Upgrade Bidding Pricing

Hi guys,

I'm looking at using the Iberia "Seat auction"

Quick question - Does the auction price tend to go lower the closer it becomes to the flight if the seats are not selling?

The reason i ask is for example Business class was being offered at a starting bid of 300 and it has now dipped down to 289 (i presume to encourage bids)

Would you say it is worth holding out and checking loads closer to the flight on the basis they may lower the price even further?

Any help/opinions would be really appreciated!

Thanks,

I haven't seen the starting price change after the auction has begun, so that might be an indication of really low participation. My general strategy is to bid second from the bottom but in your case I'd look at the loads for the flights and then adjust accordingly.

I've got a $450 bid in for MIA-MAD on a flight in January that has steadily been doing down in availability. It's been stalled at J4 D2 for a couple of weeks now, I'm crossing my fingers.
