Chances of equipment swap on LHR-MAD A340
 

Hello,

I tried booking a Virgin Atlantic A340-600 from LHR to JFK both ways because I'd never flown on an A340, and of course a couple months beforehand they swapped it around from a 787 and finally settling on an A330.

In November I'm trying my luck again with the 'infamous' (?) LHR-MAD Iberia A340 flight. Is this A340 pretty stable or should I prepare myself for disappointment again?

Lately this flight has been a mixture of A340-600, A330-200/300 and even the new A350-900. I'd prepare yourself that it might not be an A340, but it will almost certainly be a long haul aircraft which is always enjoyable on such a short route.

You should be ok but as stated they can change at last min to another widebody. It has only happened to me once. On another note LH are flying the A340 into DUB from FRA every Wednesday over the Summer in case thats an option for you.
