Ground Handling Strike April 21st and 24th
So it appears a strike of the Ground Handling Staff has been announced for April 21st (Easter Sunday) and April 24st.
At all Spanish airports, no less. What kind of disruptions are to be expected because of this? Information from the airlines is still sparse... |
Bumping thread. I’d also like to know if anyone has any idea how big of an impact this will have... |

No info on IB website thus far. I love Spain, but not IB.
OLCI for a flight today via MAD just fails with a non-descript error message. I expected something like this. Let's see what happens at my departure airport (outside Spain). |
As a point of reference from today.
For 7am flight to LHR, got very conservative and arrived around 4am. Not surprisingly, security checkpoint was empty and passed through in no time. Non-Schengen passport control for the gate we were using didn't open until 6am and again, no wait to clear. |
I don't know if the strike for the 21st was called off or something. But it was completely smooth sailing for me as well. Shorter than usual lines at security etc.
