  • Login problems: If you have trouble logging into the Iberia website, type in your number and password by hand instead of using autocomplete. For some people this fixes login issues.
  • Partner awards: Many flights on partners will not be available as one-way. You must redeem AA flights as a round trip for example
  • Cancellations: Iberia awards on AA cannot be cancelled.

USER: Your FT username
OWNER: SELF or WIFE/CHILD/MOM/DAD/etc. Owner of the account (i.e. the name on the account).
ACCT: NEW or OLD. New = created during promo period. Old = created prior to promo period.
YEAR: Optional. Year account opened.
DOCS?: DOCS or NO DOCS. Did you submit identity documentation to IB?
VERIFIED: VERIFIED or UNVERIFIED. Has IB actually verified the docs you submitted yet (via email confirmation)?
POSTED?: POSTED or NOT POSTED. Points posted to account?
# PTS: How many points have posted to the account so far?
MISSING: How many points (that were expected) did not actually post?
DENIAL REASON: If you've been denied or are in limbo, what was the reason stated? INCONSISTENCIES, REFUNDS, WAITING, etc.

I spent the miles (+ extra miles I bought) months ago and have 1000 miles left in my account and still got the email so I think it's just another Iberia IT hickup.

I have two new accounts, with some some activity related to the promo, and no emails:

+90000 Bonus Avios
+4000 from Amex
-42500 for IB award
+42500 redeposit
-94000 BAEC transfer

I transferred all my 90k to my BA account and redeemed them all immediately for flights on CX and QR.

Didn't receive the email yet. My IB account is new. My BA account is not.

Did anyone who transferred these to BA had any issues afterwards, so far? Do you think there might be a risk that flights booked via BA with IB avios transferred from this promo could be later cancelled by BA? Sounds extreme, right?

So looking to spend Promotional Avios this week. Based upon your experience it is OK to purchase Iberia Avios and combine with the Promotional Avios is my take. Gives one a bit of flexibility, as am short Avios in certain potential. scenarios.

I had to cancel one of my Avios bookings due to schedule conflict and I received the refund e-mail (€25 service fee) less than 24 hours and the Avios less than 72 hours after I initiated the cancelation. Call center can't process any Avios booking changes other than date changes. All other changes require a cancelation and rebook (the worst part is the wait for Avios to be redeposited, but I am very lucky in getting them redeposited automatically in 72 hours as others mentioned in another thread that it could take weeks).

If you spend them to make a booking on the IB website, I don't see how there could be any risk.

The only doubt is whether transferring these Avios to BA (against the T&Cs of the promotion) will have consequences or not.

Anyone got any insight into whether I would have any issues requesting a date change on a redemption made using the promotional Avios after December 1st? I'm not talking about a cancelation, but simple date change.

As a precaution I'm warehousing all of my Avios at BA. I've spent my bonus Avios but who knows what IB+'s IT is programmed to do on 1 December...

Found I could spend every last avios via hotel booking. It allows u to select the exact amount u have and a reduced cash amount via a cash and points booking. Doesn't show till the very last page

Based on your multiple datapoints, it seems like if you have >0 avios in IB, you'll eventually get the email. If you have 0 or you transferred them all out...no email?

Edit: Spoke too soon. Got the email for both of my accounts with 0 miles just now.

Ultimately the only data points that truly matter are from those who genuinely spent their Avios cleanly through IB+. Every single bonus Avios spent, no refunds / date changes, no BA transfers, etc. If those people receive emails then the email is surely being sent in batches to everybody who participated, rather than targeted to those who haven't yet spent all of their promo Avios.

I don't think I've seen a data point like that, which leads me to conclude that some people are in for a nasty surprise on 1 December...
