  • Login problems: If you have trouble logging into the Iberia website, type in your number and password by hand instead of using autocomplete. For some people this fixes login issues.
  • Partner awards: Many flights on partners will not be available as one-way. You must redeem AA flights as a round trip for example
  • Cancellations: Iberia awards on AA cannot be cancelled.
Iberia Plus offer 9000 per booking 21/JUN to 24/JUN on iberia.com
Terms and conditions of the offer are to be found here in post 14.

Yeah. If I start on the main page and tick "Pay with Avios", it jumps me to the same Avios "Where can we take you" screen and I get the same error message.

Did you use the link referenced up thread or the main entry screen area? The main entry screen is more for trips via IB itself.

If it's not that, it would perhaps be helpful to put some example dates down so that someone else can check.

Yep. That is the link I am using. LON-AMS 10/13-17.

Tried multiple browsers. Tried changing the country on the website. No dice.

Please let me know if I am crazy or not

Have you tried LHR/LGW? Some systems don't recognize LON.

Yeah. Unfortunately Iberia only recognizes LON.

Update: I even tried calling the Iberia reservation line and they were having trouble and couldn't find the same flights BA/AA's websites are showing. I also now realize it is not showing the return flight I want to LCY. The IB website is

OK, I've now had a chance to look at this and I agree there is some sort of glitch. I can see availability from London to BRU, LUX and DUS, but not to AMS or RTM. BCN and MAD to NL work. I assume it's some bug in the IT here, To be honest it's the sort of trip that is best done on BA's website, if you are entitled to Reward Flight Saver tickets, since the cash component on IB will be somewhat higher than BA.

Maybe I am one of the few, who have decided to fly all the segments, so I would like to report how it went so far. I fly 4 and 6 segments in two days. Day -1 was my positioning day to MAD. Flight went technical; 250e in compensation. Hopefully one more will be delayed as well and the only cost would be the YQ for the award ticket. I will report once the trip is finished.

Yeah, I can get into my account via the app as of a few weeks ago but if I try to get further than looking at my trips it says I’m blocked. Called customer service many times and they say it’s being handled by another dept due to the Avios deal. I’ll try threatening a report like you did and report back to everyone. Thanks!

I'm not flying all of them but I will be attempting LGW-MAD-PMI-MAD-LHR over the course of next weekend. I'll update with how it went. I've worked in plenty of buffer time between flights in case of delays, the only dubious one is the first LGW-MAD which is the last flight of the day to MAD followed by the first flight of the day from MAD-PMI. If that get's cancelled I'll have to abandon my nested trip to PMI. If it's delayed then I don't care...

I have a schedule change on my first trip, which leaves me a very tight connection to get home. Thinking to skip the nested trip and enjoy Madrid for the weekend.

Anyone else switching their IB number for a BA one? I didn't see anyone mention it, I'm assuming that won't cause a problem for the 9000 Avios for each flight.

Well the T&Cs did say your IB+ number had to be entered 'at the time of booking' so hopefully if you change it later you'll be alright. They also don't care if you no-show so this leads me to believe they won't care about changing IB+->BAEC after booking.

Certainly I'll be trying to change all the segments I fly to use my BAEC number because I want the TPs and want to ensure I get lounge access - I have status with BA but not IB...

I have flown all 10 segments in 2 days. Most of the flights were back to back at SVQ/IBZ. Same plane same crew. SVQ is not good for same plane turnaround as you have to exit and go through security again. In two instances we got even bus gate. In Ibiza I have spent less than 1 minute at the airport before boarding back the plane. The looks of the crew were priceless. It was a good experience, however the closed Dali lounge was frustrating as you had exit each time before next flight out of Madrid and of course no showers. I did 7 segments in my peak day and have walked almost 10 km.

Out of curiosity, what is the perceived benefit of doing this ?? I can see a handful of TPs, but set that against the wear and tear ?? If it was the same crew, lucky you were not taken off in a straightjacket at the end

Initially I have thought that it would be mandatory to fly the segments in order to keep the promo avios. I have secured a hall pass from mrs shady (teasing her with a trip to brazil). Briefed similarly "half-crazy" friend, who got the hall pass as well and we booked positioning flights. When info emerged you dont have to fly, we were considering to skip it but with hall passes in one hand and positioning ticket in the other hand we went for it.

hello,

i just let you know that transferring IB Avios to BA is not possible.
I also tried to register to avios.com and talked to them with the chat and they answered this : "I'm sorry but as we are in the process of transferring all our UK members over to the BA exec club we're no longer taking new UK members"

Any other ways I can transfer those miles to BA?
