  • Login problems: If you have trouble logging into the Iberia website, type in your number and password by hand instead of using autocomplete. For some people this fixes login issues.
  • Partner awards: Many flights on partners will not be available as one-way. You must redeem AA flights as a round trip for example
  • Cancellations: Iberia awards on AA cannot be cancelled.

90K finally posted to my wife's new account but we got the similar error message issue when trying to book online... both AA and IB flights.
I tried the same itineraries on my old accounts and did not get the error and progressed to the payment page.

I was able to book flights on Iberia earlier. Went back to see if I can use up remaining Avios and noe even Iberia flights show up with error.

I just booked AA F r/t from LAX to JFK with a phone agent after getting the same error message online, and several agents who said previously they couldn't see the award space. (AA website showed the space available the whole time, and so did Iberia's website until you got to the error screen.)

Not sure if this agent did it a different way, but he had no problem whatsoever.

EDIT: They also waived the phone booking fee after I told them the website wouldn't let me do it, so ask for that.

I used up 87,000 Avios and have 3,000 remaining. Is there anything I can do with the remaining Avios other than letting it expire on Dec. 1st? Thanks.

But what is sure is that they block redemption for new accounts.
Same here: Points got posted 7/12 and 7/17.
the second 90k got deducted at 12:30 cest today.

I did not experience any I ssues to book flights with the initial 90k.

You can always add 1,500 to your Iberia Plus account, and then you will have enough to do a puddle-hopper flight. For example, 4,500 is enough to go from Madrid to Lisbon.

New Iberia Plus user here, got my avios today and already booked a transatlantic flight with Iberia. Redeeming together with a friend is not so easy because the availability on a specific flight may not be enough for two people, and one of you may get an error on the payment page. You first have to search for 2 people, look for suitable dates, and then book individually. There is still plenty of availability in spring 2019, but that will fill up quickly since many Iberia flights only have 1 seat available.

Regarding limited availability. It seems that no connecting flights can be priced. I get a price for HAM-MAD and for MAD-MIA, but not for HAM-MIA, although availability is shown. Could be the source of the problem for partner awards also, as you have to book a return on most of them. Just speculating and didn't investigate further, as I'm not looking at redeeming right now.

For people that are able to redeem their promo avios - were you able to book instantly? Or was there a wait? My avios was posted yesterday, but I am getting the error message "An error has occurred. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask you to please try again after a few minutes. If the error persists please contact us." These flights are Iberia express and not Iberia. I am hoping it is just some of delay and I can book online soon. I have 4 separate flights to book for myself and my partner, I don't want the faff of doing it over the phone.

Everyone is having the same problem if you read back this thread and the "Redeeming on partners" one. You'll need to call up for now.

Had the same "multiple accounts" thing happen to me because of their horrendous website. I tried sending an email to explain what happened, but at this point, I'm cutting my losses and getting the refunds.

So far Ive gotten a pretty solid ROI after earning 180K for myself and SO.

Redeemed 46,000 for a round trip NYC to Cabo, first class there economy flights back.

and then redeemed for two nights at The Cape a Thompson Hotel in Cabo, redeemed 38,000 Avios & $750 co pay for two nights in the Panoramic Suite (cash cost would have been about $1000/night, 2K total) I personally found most avios point redemptions provided a poor return. However, at retail prices I got about 3 cents per avios which is significantly better than the regular priced rooms, 42,000 avios for a $350 room , less than 1 cant per point.

So from just my account, not even counting the other 90K avios Im SOs account I got about this much value..

$1000 value RT to Cabo J/Y
$1250 value from avios and cash hotel redemption.

$2,250 from the $300 investment .. pretty solid promo for me! Hope it works out for everybody.
