  • Login problems: If you have trouble logging into the Iberia website, type in your number and password by hand instead of using autocomplete. For some people this fixes login issues.
  • Partner awards: Many flights on partners will not be available as one-way. You must redeem AA flights as a round trip for example
  • Cancellations: Iberia awards on AA cannot be cancelled.

The amount of new accounts was locked in on June 24 when the promo ended. They could have immediately sent out a blast asking people to send in passport photos to verify. We could have been doing this for days so that new accounts dont get needlessly delayed.

Or Iberia could have used the same standard for eligibility as for transferring between Avios accounts and avoided the headache. That would have been much smarter and avoided the overhead and headache that resulted.

90,200 Avios in my account (90k promotion plus 200 welcome bonus)
The number was not in my tickets.
I called Iberia Plus to add them and they asked for all of my booking references. Told me they would be added manually. (6/22)
I figured it wouldn't hurt to add them myself, I pulled up each booking and added the number under passenger details. (6/23)
I still can't book an award ticket - waiting for account to be unlocked after sending form and copy of passport.

​​​Is your account a new one? Or is it one of the unlucky older account to also get locked? If the former, it's a positive sign that you least see the points in your account. I haven't heard of any new account with points credited

I received 90k and my number was NOT on the PDF as far as I can see but was on every email.
Signed up 5 other family members. All accounts are locked. Apparently they need to submit the tickets, although none have received an email to that effect. Thanks Iberia for making this more painful that needs be..

Iberia has sent two different version email. Although I haven't received any avios so far. I think they are doing this fair.


1) You can only get refund

Dear customer,

We have noticed that several Iberia Plus accounts have recently been registered in your name. For your security, we have cancelled the duplicated accounts, leaving the original and oldest one active.

You can continue to enjoy all the benefits of the programme through this account. Likewise, if you took part in the 9,000 bonus Avios promotion for purchasing at Iberia.com from 21 to 24 June 2018, we will record the relevant Avios to your account.

If you have purchased a ticket associated with the cancelled account and would like a refund or would like to perform any other transaction regarding it, please contact us via email at [email protected], including your Iberia Plus number in the subject line and stating:
Ticket number to be refunded (you can see the number in your confirmation email, starting 075-…).
Iberia Plus number associated with the ticket.
You may request a refund for the ticket at no extra cost until 31 July 2018 (GMT+2).

The subject line of the email must include your Iberia Plus number in order for us to process it and you must send it to us by 31 July (GMT+2). If the documentation is not received before this date, we will be unable to register you for the Iberia Plus programme and you will not have access to any of the associated benefits.

So lame. Such an amateur hour of a company. Bought tickets for five family members for next month, some quite pricey. All five accounts were locked. But no emails, now after resetting PINs still points either. I’m inclined to refund everything and fly another carrier instead. Will definitely not direct any of my work travel to these guys if I can avoid it.

New account, opened 6/23.
My number was not on the PDF ticketing confirmation.
I don't know whether the points were credited because reservations took down all of my booking references when I called to ask why Plus number wasn't on the PDFs or because I went into each booking and added the number under customer information.
One thing I did note: each time I added the Plus number to a record, the booking appeared under my account.
Now waiting for them to unlock the account - but who knows, I might wake up and find the Avios gone.
I'm trying to roll with it.

Two old accounts. Mine and the Mrs. Both credited with 90,000 each.

Several newer accounts for other family members. Nothing posted. Accounts locked. Some received emails asking for ID, other's didn't.

I even called them and the chap said to ring back in 72 hours.

I read all these reports that IB have contacted them with options for refund or to have it verified and bonus miles deposited and wonder - did I just end up in some black hole with no communication from IB? I've tried messaging them on FB but to no avail.

I am in the 100% exactly the same situation. I was not contacted by Iberia at all, I sent 3 emails, one after booking, to which they replied last Thursday that the bookings had IB+ number included, one with passport and form (received autoreply), and one with passport +form + pdf etickets (received no auto reply). I resent the last email again from a different email address about 30 minutes ago and still no auto reply. I also called several times, and was told to just wait and call them in 72 hours after sending my email. So we seem to be in the very same black hole together.

As a data point, posters could say which country they have account registered in and on which country site they booked. In my case: US / US.

I'm also furious that they won't let me transfer them out, even though they said that I wouldn't be able to..."

I'm going to run out of popcorn soon.

Just play the game, follow the rules, send them the documents they want and be understandable when they say they are busy, because, you know, they are... people were booking over 100 flights just for themselves.

Honestly, Iberia could have just canceled the promo, I think this got way out of control as it was designed badly and they are honestly trying to make it work now, this is going better than I expected. If all we need to do is send in some paperwork, that is fine by me. Several newbies to this points game got in over their heads and are b!tch!ng way too much.
I for one set my expectations low going into this, and am pleased with how it is progressing.
