- Login problems: If you have trouble logging into the Iberia website, type in your number and password by hand instead of using autocomplete. For some people this fixes login issues.
- Partner awards: Many flights on partners will not be available as one-way. You must redeem AA flights as a round trip for example
- Cancellations: Iberia awards on AA cannot be cancelled.

Does everybody really believe everything a res agent for Iberia says? They will make up answers if they dont know the answer. I would not put any credence in anything they say. As the saying goes, time will tell.

Never, and especially so for Iberia, but company communication on this promo has been key. I waited on the initial $18 fares until there was better communication from IB (and wound up paying ~$90 more, which I found worth it). I'm sure many others did the same, so it makes sense that now people are still seeking information and clarification from IB. It's not a good source, but it's the only source.

Guys no need to call anyone because :
1. agents are not aware of anything.
2. waste of time and money for nothing.
3. if something has to happen (positive or negative), be sure that we will all be aware on time ))
I will personally start to care and call if nothing happens end of this week / beginning of next week, but again the agents (in general, and Iberia specifically) are never well aware of anything and if management does not give them any info, you will only receive crap informations.

You must wait 3 months from earning first points....
I think this will be case for all people who opened Iberia Account for this promo or had empty account....

Don't know if this is anything new, but for one of my bookings I was signed in but forgot to add the frequent flyer number until after i'd paid. Slight concern at the mention of "purchases" given this was only true for one of my reservations!:
"Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconveniences we may have caused you for not being able to respond until today the e-mail you sent us few days ago.
Regarding your request, we have verified the information contained in your reservation XXXXX and we are sorry to inform you that according to the 9.000 Avios promotion terms and conditions, customers will collect the corresponding Avios as long as they are identified as an Iberia Plus member when purchasing the ticket, in order words, the reservation should have been correctly created under your account profile so the ticket would had been issued and properly linked to your frequent flyer number. As we see, you associated the account number after the ticket was issued.
Unfortunately, your bookings do not meet the conditions of the Avios promotion as your Iberia Plus account was not registered for completing the purchasing process.

Being brutally honest if you're not logged in and don't give your frequent flyer number I can understand why they couldn't identify you. It's a little optimistic to expect them to manually check everyone's account. But isn't the frequent flyer number your log in your identity? You'd have given them the number when you logged in or you wouldn't have been able to get access?

This promo will soon become a nightmare for the customers expecting these miles and for Iberia.
I can easily see a avalanche of customers asking for theirs money back and filing a charge backs.

Slow down cowboy. Newly created accounts were not sticking in the reservations, this was clearly linked to new accounts and they were not "removed", where you imply premeditation by Iberia. It may cause issues, but I wouldn't accuse Iberia of doing anything proactively to circumvent the promo
