  • Login problems: If you have trouble logging into the Iberia website, type in your number and password by hand instead of using autocomplete. For some people this fixes login issues.
  • Partner awards: Many flights on partners will not be available as one-way. You must redeem AA flights as a round trip for example
  • Cancellations: Iberia awards on AA cannot be cancelled.

Please do a separate data point for each account. If you opened accounts for others (spouse, child, parent, etc), please make a separate entry for each account you opened. Please follow the formatting below so we have some consistency. USER: Your FT username

ACCT: NEW or OLD. New = created during promo period. Old = created prior to promo period.
YEAR: Optional. Year account opened.
DOCS?: DOCS or NO DOCS. Did you submit identity documentation to IB?
VERIFIED: VERIFIED or UNVERIFIED. Has IB actually verified the docs you submitted yet (via email confirmation)?
POSTED?: POSTED or NOT POSTED. Points posted to account?
# PTS: How many points have posted to the account so far?
MISSING: How many points (that were expected) did not actually post?

OK, I was nicer in my email and didn't threaten with serious action yet. Let see if it helps at all. I'm missing 9000 avios and raised it with clasica on day when original avios posted, only to get response two weeks later that they will forward it to right team.

Has anyone here successfully booked and canceled an IB award through IB with a new account, and received a refund of the points?

The reason I'm asking is that somebody reported that the Avios were lost because the Iberia+ account was not "active" (no activity besides the promo Avios being deposited).
To be on the safe side, I purchased Avios for one of my family's account before canceling an award, and the points were refunded.
But now I'd like to cancel to other awards (since it's not possible to change the routing of a booking, you need to cancel and book again), and I'm not to keen on purchasing more Avios...

I have. Booked an Iberia flight and a BA flight. Cancelled both (25 GBP fee each, even though website says Euro), were told the Avios would be back within 48 hours. They did not show up in my account, so called after 52 hours and the agent fixed it while I was on hold. It was on Saturday. Another agent said it would only be possible during the weekdays.

Money haven't been received yet, but they told me to allow up to 4 weeks.

My account was created during the promotion.

Prior to them posting, were you missing all the miles or just some of them?

Awesome, thanks! Your experience sounds pretty much like my own, except I bought more Avios to be safe.

I guess another couple of weeks waiting for my missing 9000 avios:

Hey,
Any one asked a refund of a ticket booked during the promo because IB dont want to credit avios ? do we need to do it by email ? or call them ?
is it possible to do it after 1 august ? my account was blocked too for a week and IB had some delay to answer us, is this a reason to accept a refund after the 31 July ?
