  • Login problems: If you have trouble logging into the Iberia website, type in your number and password by hand instead of using autocomplete. For some people this fixes login issues.
  • Partner awards: Many flights on partners will not be available as one-way. You must redeem AA flights as a round trip for example
  • Cancellations: Iberia awards on AA cannot be cancelled.

it is looking a bit more promising. I have had an email saying they have reinstated the so called duplicate account that I used to make the bookings. So I am a bit more optimistic that the points will land at some point!

Whether this was as a result of cc'ing the execs or not I have no idea!

It seems that my Avios were credited on July 26 though I just logged into my account today. I had duplicate accounts. Bookings were made on the second account and IB canclled that account and kept the first account. I'd manually added the reserverations to my first account. I'd sent emails on July 17, July 19 and July 21 to classica.

To the fellow duplicate account posters - did you receive any emails back from clasica before the points posted? Any emails at all? Apparently my initial account that had the bookings is again accessible (at least on the app?) and the bookings are showing on it but still no points....and the second account is now not showing up which was working until very recently? It's all so confusing...

Credit avios for flights taken as part of the offer to baec?

I'm sapphire (silver) with baec, but nothing with ip. I will actually be flying some of the ib flights I booked to earn the bonus miles. Obviously it's better for me to credit these to my baec account, so I can access the lounge, extra baggage, free seat choice, etc, etc. I'm not sure if this will invalidate my 9,000 bonus though. Anyone tried this?

Why would it invalidate your bonus miles? There was no restrictions in place to say that the flights had to be flown let alone credit to your IB account.

FWIW I swapped the FF# on all my flights over to my BA number once the bonus miles posted and have chosen my seats (for free) across the board. I will be flying most of my flights and will be picking up a few thousand avios and about 70TP into the bargain.

I deliberately chose flights after my March 8th TP year end knowing I would be struggling to retain Gold next year as I am pretty commited already with travel plans. Those extra TP from these flights plus hopefully a little Hawaiian TP run should sort me out.

How did you change the FF# on any given flight from your IB account to BA account? When I go into "Mange Booking" area on Iberia.com I don't seem to see how to do that. I'm wondering about changing mine to either AA or BA account. Wonder if I have to actually fly my 10 short haul one-ways to earn Avios/Miles? I wonder what 10 short haul flights earn...can't be a whole lot.

EDIT: Looks like 10 short haul class A flights = 1250 IB Avios. In and of itself is pretty worthless for me, but would be better as AA miles (if possible).

I did the same, as I am BA Silver - however, once you change to a BA number, the Iberia flights disappear from my Iberia Plus account, nor are they in my BA account (obviously) - so all my 10 flights are homeless (in a way). Is there any way of having the BA number attached but keeping them listed in an Iberia account? Would be useful, just to keep track of all the flights in one place..

For the same reason that newbies didn't initially get their miles, or transfers were disabled. Not overly keen on a fight with IB, even if they didn't put it in their terms!

For those asking about changing ff number - Finnair website is supereasy for doing that.

Wow, a pretty pathetic business to deal with, I feel sorry for folks who actually have to endure this sort of service on a regular basis.

We're in Spain now enjoying the beaches and the wine/food so I can hardly be bothered by this, but here is the state of things for the five of us. Three of five accounts were deleted on the day they were created and so not eligible for the bonuses. No real explanation from them here, so I have decided to retain 3 of the tickets booked out for these 3 family members of necessity (fares have since gone up and/or no other direct flights) and am in the process of cancelling 2 others that I will book on some other carrier. One account has been in limbo between two departments at Iberia, each of which has a different position. One group seems to have cancelled that account recently due to claiming it was the same email address used as mine. When I pointed out that there was nothing to prohibit that, just like sharing an address or phone number among spouses, they relented but another person then wrote back and claimed that my wife's passport info doesnt match what was in her Iberia Plus account and that is why the account was cancelled. That is a lie, plain and simple. Another department has already sent an email saying she is eligible for the bonus avios and should get them soon. Only problem is that without an account anymore, that is unlikely to happen. We're in Iberia business class to Athens next week, I need to make sure we all drink the plan dry and try to recoup what is owed us ;-) My account, no different from the others and all the same flights booked, got all the bonuses. Consistency... what I like to see in an airline.

Done with this and will think twice about buying IB tickets in the future.
