- Login problems: If you have trouble logging into the Iberia website, type in your number and password by hand instead of using autocomplete. For some people this fixes login issues.
- Partner awards: Many flights on partners will not be available as one-way. You must redeem AA flights as a round trip for example
- Cancellations: Iberia awards on AA cannot be cancelled.

I just did a test and it seems alright to price out avios needed for hotel booking (till the payment page).
Moreover, the interview with their management long while ago did mentioned hotel booking is indeed included (but transfer to BA is not, on the other hand).
I feel bad if someone try to push it over the limit (for publicity, click rates, rebates or whatsoever).

Judging from then comments of other FTers upthread, the more usual response was that it would take a few days or even weeks for the Avios to show up. Now your reply suggested a near immediate credit. Personally I would leave it a few days and then ask again or call up. I imagine the IB+ agents and systems are overloaded at the moment but at some point they will get back to normal working.

I agree. I think the vast majority of people are happy to spend the Avios via the Iberia FFP, so what is the point of this story? It also seems bizarre that the Mail on Sunday would write a full page story on such a niche bit of "news"? Are their readers going to really give a .... about some frequent flyers whining that they cannot transfer out 90000 Avios they bought on the cheap for 0.24p from Iberia?? Doubt they'll be much sympathy.

Iberia award availability is sometimes difficult to come by, but I noticed that availability on BA is very good and from Brazil, there are no surcharges (unlike even HKG).
Personally I booked MAD-GRU on IB and GRU-LHR on BA.

Still haven't heard back since 7/4. Sent emails on 7/6, 7/16, and 7/23. Received an auto-reply for each but nothing else. I'll send my refund request on Monday. This was more or less my expectation for Iberia (or anything based in Spain) so I can't say I'm surprised.
