Extra luggage and Iberia Hand luggage only
Hi All,

Quick question. If I book a HBO fare with Iberia, can I still take a free suitcase with me as BAEC Silver?

I forgot to add, also, how would I add my BAEC details to the Iberia booking?

on IB operated flight as OWS you'll get one extra luggage, so 1 bag on HBO, 2 on classic. you also get a free seat selection.

You can either call them (which has been hit and miss in my experience) or use the MMB feature on the Finnair or Royal Jordanian site. May seem strange, but works.

I didn't know that. So as a BAEC Silver, I can book HBO with Iberia and take a free checked bag, but if I book HBO with BA I can't?
Does it depend on who I book the flight with, or on who operates it?

Depends on who's operating it, so far as I know. But not entirely sure if you book an IB/I2 operated flight sold as BA HBO codeshare - have never tried to check in a bag in that situation.

Booked HBO on IB express and understand that I get a piece of free luggage as OWE, will the rest of my party be also be eligible for free luggage?

Did you book it with Iberia Express or with Iberia? If the former then I believe no free piece at all.

By booking with Iberia Express you basically lose all status benefits - I don't think you even earn Avios with BA.

Iberia Express is an affiliate member of oneworld so standard oneworld status benefits apply for an I2 marketed + operated flight
