Which aircraft on MAD-PTY in January?

Hi all,

I have a return in Business from Madrid to Panama.

Times have just been changed and the new seat map just shows four rows of business: 2+2+2.

Which aircraft will this be, then?

The A340s - which I thought were operating this - have far more than 24 business seats.

But I do not see a seat map for the A330s. Could it be them?

IBLA changed the config of its 340-300 flying to Central America /Caribbean back in 2011.

I took that flight recently and it was an A340-200: 4 rows of 2+2+2 in biz, so it sounds like the same aircraft in your case.

Hi,

Thanks for that.

Now we just wait to see if the new business comes on stream by then!

IB is using 342 code for their low J A340-300. So technically it's a 300 series but with less J and more Y seats. They often switch between the two versions of the A340-300 and even the -600 series. But don't worry, the product is really the same (old full flat), which is very comfortable and spacious - but not very lucrative for the airline due to the huge seat pitch.
