Departure lounges
Iberia Premium Lounge Dalí
Located in T4 immediately after security at Level 2, if departing or connecting to Schengen, IB operated London bound flights (A330/A350 excluded) or domestic flights: it is a decent lounge with free food, drinks and showers. Open 06:00 to 23:00.

Iberia Premium Lounge Velázquez
Open daily 06:00 to 01:00
Located in T4S (Zone "S") at Level 1 at the edge of the duty free store. Open 24 hours, for departures to non-Schengen and long haul flights; self-serve food, drinks, wine bar (Rincón del vino), restaurant w/ limited hours, targeted to departing intercontinental overnight Iberia flyers.
Lunch buffet 14:00 – 16:30, Dinner 21:00 onwards, Bistro 21:00 - 00:30
When you exit the lounge and make your way to your departure gate, veer left through the duty free store. You can use Starbucks as a visual cue. If you veer right, you will end up in a cul-de-sac.
Arrivals lounge
Sala de Llegadas
Located in the main T4 arrivals hall at level -1. The lounge is equipped with showers and a breakfast room.
This is not a oneworld lounge. Access is provided free of charge to business class passengers who have arrived on an Iberia operated flight of more that 4 hours. Iberia Plus Platinum, Gold, and Singular members may also use the lounge provided they have also arrived on an Iberia operated flight of more than 4 hours. Paid entrance is also available
Lounge hopping
Terminal 4 and 4S are joined by a subterranean train; it is unlikely to lounge hop as the gatekeepers are rather strict about using the appropriate lounge.

No, Malta is in Schengen. You go through immigration when you arrive in T4S.
The arrivals lounge is only worth it if you want to take a shower (which you probably do after an overnight flight). Otherwise it's not worth the detour. As LupineChemist said, it is not a lounge designed to spend any time in, just a shower and a quick bite.

Yes, for a non-Schengen to Schengen connection T4(S)-T123, you need to fully exit T4 and transit landside. The green and blue buses departs from outside the arrivals hall (i.e. one floor up from the arrivals lounge), slightly to the right.
The only airside transit between T123 and T4 is available when connecting non-Schengen to non-Schengen, via a bus service (that I have never seen anyone report back on).

Since I had lots of time and would have to clear security again anyhow, it didn't really bother me much to clear immigration and take the landside transit.

Hello,
My family of 6 is flying TAP from EWR to Madrid, and then flying Iberia from Madrid to DSS on award tickets booked via British Airways. In order to get award tickets on the MAD->DSS Iberia route I booked 4 economy (1 adult and 3 minors) and 2 business (1 adult and 1 minor).
We will have a 7 hour layover before our Iberia flight, so I'm interested in the lounges. What can I expect with a family of 6 (4 minors) holding 2 business class tickets and 4 economy tickets?
Thanks

What do you think is the best option if we want somewhere to lay down and nap for several hours?

Can we use the Velasquez lounge essentially overnight if arriving in MAD the evening and departing the next morning? In other words, we're planning on arriving at 7pm on ZRH-MAD on LX, and then flying MAD-ALG on Air Nostrum the next morning at 11:40am. I'm Oneworld Sapphire. Could we reclaim our bags at 7pm, check in at the IB counter and drop our bags off and then head to the Velasquez lounge and stay there overnight? Any harm in this plan? Thanks!
