Departure lounges
Iberia Premium Lounge Dalí
Located in T4 immediately after security at Level 2, if departing or connecting to Schengen, IB operated London bound flights (A330/A350 excluded) or domestic flights: it is a decent lounge with free food, drinks and showers. Open 06:00 to 23:00.

Iberia Premium Lounge Velázquez
Open daily 06:00 to 01:00

Located in T4S (Zone "S") at Level 1 at the edge of the duty free store. Open 24 hours, for departures to non-Schengen and long haul flights; self-serve food, drinks, wine bar (Rincón del vino), restaurant w/ limited hours, targeted to departing intercontinental overnight Iberia flyers.

Lunch buffet 14:00 – 16:30, Dinner 21:00 onwards, Bistro 21:00 - 00:30

When you exit the lounge and make your way to your departure gate, veer left through the duty free store. You can use Starbucks as a visual cue. If you veer right, you will end up in a cul-de-sac.

Arrivals lounge
Sala de Llegadas
Located in the main T4 arrivals hall at level -1. The lounge is equipped with showers and a breakfast room.

This is not a oneworld lounge. Access is provided free of charge to business class passengers who have arrived on an Iberia operated flight of more that 4 hours. Iberia Plus Platinum, Gold, and Singular members may also use the lounge provided they have also arrived on an Iberia operated flight of more than 4 hours. Paid entrance is also available

Lounge hopping
Terminal 4 and 4S are joined by a subterranean train; it is unlikely to lounge hop as the gatekeepers are rather strict about using the appropriate lounge.

No, Malta is in Schengen. You go through immigration when you arrive in T4S.

The arrivals lounge is only worth it if you want to take a shower (which you probably do after an overnight flight). Otherwise it's not worth the detour. As LupineChemist said, it is not a lounge designed to spend any time in, just a shower and a quick bite.

thanks.. yes, quick bite and a coffee, maybe a shower. Bus to T1 is at T4, so really not much of a detour if arriving at T4s, have to go to T4 anyway..right?

Yes, for a non-Schengen to Schengen connection T4(S)-T123, you need to fully exit T4 and transit landside. The green and blue buses departs from outside the arrivals hall (i.e. one floor up from the arrivals lounge), slightly to the right.

The only airside transit between T123 and T4 is available when connecting non-Schengen to non-Schengen, via a bus service (that I have never seen anyone report back on).

I had a look around for that the other day as I was HBO on a separate ticket ET to BA connection. I couldn't find it, perhaps because we were bussed in from a remote stand.

Since I had lots of time and would have to clear security again anyhow, it didn't really bother me much to clear immigration and take the landside transit.

Hello,
My family of 6 is flying TAP from EWR to Madrid, and then flying Iberia from Madrid to DSS on award tickets booked via British Airways. In order to get award tickets on the MAD->DSS Iberia route I booked 4 economy (1 adult and 3 minors) and 2 business (1 adult and 1 minor).
We will have a 7 hour layover before our Iberia flight, so I'm interested in the lounges. What can I expect with a family of 6 (4 minors) holding 2 business class tickets and 4 economy tickets?
Thanks

You can expect the people with business class tickets to get into the lounge. If someone has priority pass, the sala neptuno is also quite good.

Thanks - I wasn't sure how the lounge worked with minors... I read somewhere that those under 12 could be accompanied by an adult, but I wasn't sure whether that was intended to be a restriction or a benefit.
What do you think is the best option if we want somewhere to lay down and nap for several hours?

You can pre-book lounge access to the AENA lounge at a pretty reasonable price.

I have the hilton honors business amex that gives me 10 annual priority pass visits, so hopefully I can use 6 of these at on of the madrid lounges to get a few hours of sleep.

Can we use the Velasquez lounge essentially overnight if arriving in MAD the evening and departing the next morning? In other words, we're planning on arriving at 7pm on ZRH-MAD on LX, and then flying MAD-ALG on Air Nostrum the next morning at 11:40am. I'm Oneworld Sapphire. Could we reclaim our bags at 7pm, check in at the IB counter and drop our bags off and then head to the Velasquez lounge and stay there overnight? Any harm in this plan? Thanks!

Why bother? There are some good and inexpensive hotels ( with shuttle buses ) right near the airport. Prices start around the €50 a night for a proper nights sleep and all mod cons.

Agree on that. I would hesitate to spend over 16h overnight in any lounge in the world, especially with price worthy hotels, including shuttle transport, so close to the airport

My understanding is that your flight will be departing from T4. Velazquez serves T4S so no access to that. The Iberia lounge in T4 is the Dali. But agree, stay in a hotel!

Or event better, you book yourself a hotel in downtown Madrid, use public transport (20 min by train) to go to the hotel and back to the airport and enjoy a night in Madrid going to a good restaurant.

Thanks to all for responding. It looks like MAD-ALG on IB 8720 is out of T4S. Is that right -- https://aviability.com/flight-number...-ib8720-iberia
