Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

Park Hyatt Shanghai

1.) Park Hyatt Shanghai
2.) Park Suite King http://shanghai.park.hyatt.com/hyatt...ocale=&start=5
3.) 130 sq. metre
4.) 1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom, 1 guest washroon
5.) Excellent upgrade A+
6.) Room is per description and pictures on Hyatt website

I was on a Management Comp Stay (i.e. free night) for the first night, and then on corporate rate of RMB 1,800 for the second night. I used my Diamond Suite Upgrade to upgrade the second night. Upon checkin today, found out the hotel had upgraded both nights to the Park Suite King.

Louisville

1. Name and location of hotel

Hyatt Regency, Louisville KY

2. Suite type (and link of room from hyatt.com individual property page if possible)

Corner Parlour/Bedroom linked rooms, 11th floor

3. # of Sq Ft

Don't know.

4. # of Bedrooms (Studio/Jr/1/2) and # of Bathrooms (1/1.5/2)

Normal one-bedroom, king bed with bathroom; Parlour room with sofa (fold out bed) and table, no bed, bathroom.

5. Were you happy with the upgrade? What grade would you give it

Yes, for this property a B (could have been higher floor)

6. Any other info (location/view/relative price vs normal rooms/etc) and pics if you want

Kept receiving double advance emails since each room appeared separately.

1. Name and location of hotel

Grand Hyatt Beijing, China

2. Suite type

confirmed as 'Grand Suite King'. Was located on Club level (17/F)

3. # of Sq Ft

54 - 58 sqm as per e-concierge confirmation

4. # of Bedrooms (Studio/Jr/1/2) and # of Bathrooms (1/1.5/2)

1 Bedroom 1 Bathroom

5. Were you happy with the upgrade? What grade would you give it (A/B/C/D/F)

B (all fine but no A as I'm very spoilt)

6. Any other info (location/view/relative price vs normal rooms/etc) and pics if you want

Had some trouble to get the upgrade cert applied (took 5+ days and 2 calls plus 1 email), used the 100 off cert without issues, had some minor trouble since the previous guest raided the minibar and they tried to charge me (lounge staff looking deep into my eyes and asked 'you really did not take all this stuff?' me: 'No!' staff:'OK. Will take care of it. You will not see this on your final bill.' me: 'thanks!'). Lounge better staffed and more professional as Westin Financial Street Beijing but smaller selection. Would go back any time. Made in China restaurant on 1/F is very nice - reservation required 2-3 days in advance.

I uploaded some pics to flickr. Have a look.

Hyatt Regency Waikiki

1. Hyatt Regency Waikiki
2. Originally confirmed as a connecting suite (basically 2 standard rooms connected for increased space), but upon check-in, was given their "One Bedroom Suite", which was quite large.
3. Approximately 1000-1200 sq. ft.
4. 1 Bedroom (King), 1 large bathroom, 1 huge living room/dining room area, wet bar, separate 1/2 bathroom on the side. Wide balcony overlooking Waikiki beach and the ocean.
5. Very happy with the upgrade. There was plenty of space to relax and hang out. (A)
6. The suite is located on the 39th floor (3910) of the Ewa tower. The Regency Club is in the Diamond tower, which requires a 5-10 minute journey across the property. No big deal for free food and drink.

As a side note, I also booked 2 guest rooms (advance purchase, city view) for my family who was traveling with me. When we checked in, they received the Penthouse Suite (4065) instead of the 2 guest rooms This was located on the 40th floor of the Diamond tower. Approximately 1300-1500 sq. feet. 2 full bedrooms, 1 huge living/dining room area, 2 full bathrooms, wet bar, and wide balconies overlooking Waikiki beach, Diamond head, the ocean and the city.

Diamond status pays off ^

Park Hyatt Toronto

1. Park Hyatt Toronto
2. The "Blue Suite" in the South Tower, room 316
3. ~700 sq feet; not really sure as the PH website doesn't list this room. It and a corresponding 'Pink Suite' were designed to raise awareness of prostate cancer and breast cancer, respectively.
4. 1 Living Room, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom
5. B+ ; reasonably happy
6. Hard to complain about any suite upgrade at a AAA rate of 169CAD for the last 4 nights of the Toronto Film Festival, however the wireless internet does not reach the suite so I had to go downstairs to the lobby to connect. There was a wired connection in the room, but I just had my iPhone. Also, the South Tower is the older tower so the ceilings are a little low, especially in the shower. And generally speaking, I will echo the comments of some of the people in the PH Toronto review thread about how the majority of the staff treat you like a criminal for asking about your Diamond benefits like free breakfast. Oh, and if you don't like the color blue then this room is not for you...it definitely lives up to its name.

You're right, I should

I believe the property was sold out that day, which prompted them to upgrade our rooms.

Just an FYI - not sure if anyone has posted about this before.

I made an online reservation (PH Saigon) a month ago. Confirmed upg with phone call to Diamond Res. Later cancelled the reservation (online).

I have been travelling and just now checked my account. It's been 2+ weeks since I cancelled and my Suite upg has NOT credited back to my account. Appears I have to call to get this back? Anyone else experienced this? Hope they don't claim I lose it?

I would give them a call. I once had a suite upgrade removed from a reservation to save for another stay. Since I had to make the change over the phone, I confirmed it would be reinstated to my account, which it was.

1. Name and location of hotel

Grand Hyatt Cairo, Egypt

2. Suite type (and link of room from hyatt.com individual property page if possible)

Two-room suite with 1.5 bathrooms on 31st floor. The quality of the room seemed like the basic one at this hotel (although this was my first stay there). Best feature was the balcony outside of each room overlooking the Nile. Spectacular view.

3. # of Sq Ft

Smallish. The bedroom was probably the same size as, or even smaller than, a standard room, and the living room was a bit smaller than that.

4. # of Bedrooms (Studio/Jr/1/2) and # of Bathrooms (1/1.5/2)

King bed with bathroom. Entry into the suite by the living room, with half-bathroom by the front door.

5. Were you happy with the upgrade? What grade would you give it

It was fine. I am sure that this property has nicer suites, but it was adequate.

6. Any other info (location/view/relative price vs normal rooms/etc) and pics if you want

Was able to confirm the upgrade upon booking, about a month in advance of the stay.

However, upon check-in at the Grand Club, the agent seemed to have no knowledge of the Diamond Suite Upgrade program. He said something to the effect of, "I see that you booked a standard room and are upgrading to the suite with your Gold Passport points." When I explained that that was not the case, but rather I was using one of the free upgrade certificates that Diamond members receive each year, he didn't understand. I thought that this was strange, because, I told him, a suite should already be reserved/confirmed and the certificate debited from my account, so I am not sure what information he was looking at or what transaction he would have to execute to put me in the suite. He made a call to someone, and said OK, but I think that he still didn't understand. We'll see what happens in my account.

1. Name and location of hotel

Park Hyatt Dubai

2. Suite type (and link of room from hyatt.com individual property page if possible)

Two-room suite with 1.5 bathrooms overlooking Dubai Creek.

3. # of Sq Ft

Very large living room with good-sized bedroom. Plasma TVs and DVD players in each room. The room had a large terrace, spanning both rooms, overlooking the creek. Nice sunsets here.

4. # of Bedrooms (Studio/Jr/1/2) and # of Bathrooms (1/1.5/2)

King bed with bathroom and another half-bathroom in the living room. The bathroom was an open style -- transparent glass over the shower, bathtub in the center of the room, and open half-walls between the bathroom and bedroom -- so the second guest had to remain in the living room to allow privacy for the bathroom user.

5. Were you happy with the upgrade? What grade would you give it

It was a beautiful room, typical for this property. I'd give it an A.

6. Any other info (location/view/relative price vs normal rooms/etc) and pics if you want

Was able to confirm the upgrade upon booking, about a month in advance of the stay. When I checked in, they informed me that I would be charged an additional AED 200 (about USD 55) per night for a second guest. Unfortunate, but I guess this is standard here.

All of the suites, I suppose, have one king bed, so I asked for and received a rollaway bed.

As many have commented on this forum, the service at this hotel is very average, i.e., a bit below what I would expect for a Park Hyatt. The front desk lady was not particularly friendly when we checked in, but besides that everything was prompt and professional.

1. Name and location of hotel

Grand Hyatt Doha

2. Suite type (and link of room from hyatt.com individual property page if possible)

Two-room suite with 1.5 bathrooms.

3. # of Sq Ft

The bedroom was typical of a standard room at the hotel, with the living room a bit smaller.

4. # of Bedrooms (Studio/Jr/1/2) and # of Bathrooms (1/1.5/2)

King bed in the bedroom, with adjoining bathroom, and another half-bathroom off of the living room. There are two doors connecting the bedroom with living room, one that opens toward the closet/bathroom area and the other on the opposite side of the room.

5. Were you happy with the upgrade? What grade would you give it

Maybe a C. There are rooms, apparently suites, with much bigger terraces, either much deeper than the one that I received and/or even wrapping around the corners of the building. This must be the lowest-category suite, located on the 4th floor (the lobby is the 2nd floor and the 5th floor, the highest, is the Grand Club floor).

6. Any other info (location/view/relative price vs normal rooms/etc) and pics if you want

I was able to confirm the upgrade upon booking, about a month in advance of the stay. All of the suites have one king bed, so I asked for a rollaway bed. When I checked in, the rooms manager came to greet me and told me that they had placed a normal twin bed in the living room, as opposed to a roll-away. This was an excellent service that really improved our stay.

This hotel is quite mediocre overall, in the finishing of the rooms, design of the outdoor areas, and especially the service -- although Grand Club evening service, the bar, and the Thai restaurant are very good. (I have tried to use the transportation to or from the airport, which is complimentary one-way for Diamond members, three times, and all three have been a fiasco, the concierge's effusive apologies notwithstanding.)

The Grand Club hasn't served breakfast all summer, and has been closed altogether for the last couple of months (during and after Ramadan), but the hotel is substituting great benefits -- complimentary breakfast in the restaurant; tea and other drinks throughout the day in the cafe; and snacks, drinks, and great dessert at the bar in the evening -- that are probably better than the Club's offerings.

Hyatt Montreal

1. Hyatt Regency Montreal
2. Executive Suite
3. Not Sure -- It is two connecting rooms bedrooms.
4. 1 Living Room, 1 Bedroom, 2 Bathrooms - Essentially two rooms one of which has living room furniture and a desk
5. C ; It wasn't really a suite
6. Took 45 minutes to get checked in. Got to the connecting room and realized it had two beds instead of a king. Went back to the check in desk, had to wait another 20 minutes before getting a couple of connecting rooms with a single bed. The room was very ordinary with a 10 year old CRT and no wired internet. Overall, not very impressed with the suite or the property in general.

1. Hyatt Grand Cypress, Orlando

2. VIP Suite, rooms 1508 and 1510
From Website: This deluxe 989-sq.-ft. suite in our luxurious Lake Buena Vista lodging features a central parlor offering premier upper-floor views of the pool, lake, gardens or city. Stylish decor reflecting the tropical beauty of central Florida includes a large sitting area, dining table for six, half bath, balcony and wireless Internet access. These spacious Lake Buena Vista accommodations include a connecting king bedroom with balcony and full bath.

4. 1 king bedroom, 2 bathrooms (bathrooms had shower only, and we didn't have a dining room table, instead we had a marble topped kitchen island that seated 3)

5. A+

Loved the Keurig coffeemaker and the wine refrigerator, even though we had no wine to put in it.
