Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

Booked a room and used my upgrade to a suite for my daughters birthday. Not very happy as the staff at Long Beach Hyatt gave me the room on the opposite side, plus on a different floor. In spite of booking the room over 3 months in advance. Not happy at all. This suite was dirty with torn things.

Just stayed at the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa and Casino
Used DSU and was assigned a Family Suite

Room has bedroom and separate sitting area that faces the ocean. My room was on the 8th floor the suites are the 1st two rooms on the left and right side of the hall when you get off of the elevator. Had a 50" tv on bedroom wall and a 42" in family room where there was also a pull out couch. Large bathroom with big shower. Minibar, Desk, and decent size closet. Also included access to the Club on the 9th floor!

1. Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa, north of Albuquerque enroute to Santa Fe, NM

2. Executive Suite

3. 756 Sq Ft

4. 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom - tight bathroom, shower in tub, tiny kitchen with full size refrigerator yet no bar stools nor table in living room

5. B - very spacious, nice to have kitchen, yet bathroom was very cramped and prefer walk in shower. Also, living room was only divided from bedroom by 3/4 wall so couldn't be used when one person was sleeping. Furniture is not situated to take advantage of view. We moved the desk away from wall to in front of the window in bedroom, easily done, and great improvement.

6. View was to Sandia Mountains and Rio Grande River. Not all suites in hotel have this view. Some face the swimming pool.

Nice!! I realize this isn't the FT thread for hotel reviews but would be interested in your overall review of the property and your stay. The Hyatt Aruba is on my list but the new Hyatt all-inclusive in Jamaica won my vote.....for now.

DENIED suite upgrade Hyatt City of Dreams Manila

Tried to make a booking with cash + points for 4 nights at Hyatt City of Dreams Manila, Philippines that is taking reservations for stays from December 15, 2014 onwards. The agent stated that rooms were available on cash + points, BUT when I tried to use my Diamond Status suite upgrade, she said that I could NOT use it. Granted this hotel is not open yet, but it is not on any of the lists of hotels being excluded from the Diamond Suite upgrade. In fact, the hotel is ONLY CATEGORY 2, so it's not some super fancy hotel with only suite-type rooms. What's the point of giving out suite upgrades to preferred customers with Diamond Status if they cannot be used?!! I did read the terms and conditions of the Suite Upgrades, and it states that the suite upgrade cannot be used on a hotel that isn't opened yet? Can't understand this, especially given the fact that I can book an Aqua Suite (the ONLY suite type available at this hotel) for the exact days I am trying to stay if I paid cash for it, but for some reason, a Diamond member cannot use their award to book the same suite. It is kind of silly. I know SPG doesn't have suite awards that can be confirmed at time of booking, but lately, it seems that SPG has a lot less hassles for the highest level of preferred guests than the little ones that keep popping up with Hyatt Gold Passport. Definitely am going to be rethinking where I am going to send my business when it comes to maintaining highest level status. SPG just keeps making improvements to their program, while Hyatt continues to stumble with road blocks like this more and more. The Hyatt Gold Passport program just seems to be slipping and not interested in retaining their best customers. Such a shame.

No need to get all hussing and puffing about this one.
1- its a new hotel, not yet opened, no one knows what's going to happen regarding suites upgrades at this property.
2 - They seem to only have one suite according to their room description and hotel description. Not sure how many they have. So it may well be that this hotel will not upgrade if they only have a few on hands.
3- if you do not get the answer you are hoping for from the diamond line then try contacting the hotel via email and see what they tell u. And ask nicely you may get a better answer.

What's with all the complaining lately......

It's been clearly spelled out that DSU's cannot be used for reservations before a hotel has actually opened. For properties where that wasn't the case it was clearly unintentional...

I believe that it's a newer rule - not being applicable to properties that haven't opened.

A "suite" is NOT a "suite"-- Hyatt City of Dreams Manila Philippines

Just received a reply from the "Sales Associate" from the Hyatt City of Dreams Manila, after sending a very pleasant email. Her direct quote is that "since technically the Aqua Suite is not a suite, Hyatt International will send out an announcement soon that our hotel is excluded in the Gold Passport Suite award program."

THAT IS RIDICULOUS. This is not "hussing and puffing" or "complaining" as other posters have stated. This is blatant deception on the part of this hotel. A SUITE IS NOT A SUITE??!! This is misrepresentation at its highest.

I can't believe that a hotel wants to start out on such a deceitful note even BEFORE it opens.

No mention of the rule about suite upgrades before a hotel opens. The only thing cited was that "the room we call a 'suite' (in addition to regular King/Twin standard rooms, Deluxe rooms, and Club rooms--which is pretty close to the regular names that Hyatt calls its rooms around the world) is not a suite."

I have requested the contact email of a supervisor, so we will see if the Sales Associate I spoke with obliges me with that information or not.

At least with other hotels that are excluded from the Hyatt Suite Upgrade program, they usually don't blatantly call SOME of their rooms suites (alongside regular rooms) but then say that they are NOT suites.

This is a perfect example of what I stated before: that Hyatt continues to slip and create road blocks for its elite members while other programs like SPG are making improvements and creating a better experience for their elites.

Any input from Hyatt Gold Passport Concierge that posts in this forum?

Firstly, you're in the wrong thread. Secondly, the website doesn't even list suites yet http://cityofdreamsmanila.hyatt.com/en/hotel/rooms.html . Thirdly, often hotels open their suites last.

Regardless, you're going to give yourself a heart attack.
