Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

Stayed in that suite Spring 2013. Loved it. Also, in addition to breakfast, you will get access to their lounge.

GH Washington DC - checked in Christmas Day (25) and using a suite upgrade as a Diamond was checked into 1246 the Presidential / Congressional suite. Very nice large space - huge long well lit bathroom - great sitting area. The dining area, a table for 6, plus a bar area with sink (water only runs hot) fridge and ice maker. Very luxurious and overall superb comfort. A few quirks though - a drip coffee maker without proper cone filters that doesn't work (not complaining and reported this which guest services fixed by providing a kettle), the superb Bose sound system in the lounge area cannot play regular tv only DVD/CD. The nice June Jacobs toiletries are good, not great but cannot understand why they have shampoo, conditioner, hand soap but no shower gel or shower soap bar. We have also asked to have our breakfasts in the restaurant as the grand lounge is simply chaotic in the mornings with too many guests, families and not enough seats or simple cutlery. Love the room - we enjoyed a similarly laid out suite at the PH Washington years ago - but for the price of less than 100 a night this has been a tremendous stay. Not much to say about the lounge other than the staff are wonderful but totally overwhelmed by large groups - reminds me of the GH NYC.

There is this sovereign nation to the north called Canada - they celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving in October as more of a traditional harvest celebration.

1. Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur
2. Grand Suite
3. 105 square metres
4. 1 bedroom, 1.5 bathrooms
5. A
6. Very large, very spacious suite that it was appointed with lounges, two large TVs, a Nespresso machine, large work desk, massive bath tub, large walk-in shower, large walk-in robe, double vanity, separate guest toilet. I don't give it an A+ due to what I consider one serious design flaw. The bedroom backs onto the bathroom. There is a large wall panel that is simply frosted glass and lets in a considerable amount of light from the bathroom. The bathroom itself has heavy privacy blinds but they do not block-out the sunlight.

I'm a Hyatt newbie, but have started a Diamond Challenge and therefore have 4 upgrade certificates to use. 1 seems to have gone through fine for a 7-day stay in Indonesia, but I'm also booked into the Grand Kyatt KL. I see Grand Suite availability for the dates of my 3-night stay, but I've been told I can't upgrade it. Looking at cash rates, I can see the Grand Suite as available. Am I missing something? Is it just HUACA to get a different agent?

Is the GH KL a paid stay or an award stay? Diamond Suite Upgrade awards can be used only on paid stays. Sometimes, even if a suite is bookable with cash does not mean there are suites available in upgrade inventory.

Paid stay. On a diamond challenge...

I guess I'll try again closer the time and see if I can get the suite then.

GH SF

We just stayed 3 nights at the GH SF, the first night paid and the second and third nights were covered by the free Diamond Suite nights from the credit card.

The GH San Francisco put us in an Executive Suite on 24th floor for the entire stay.

We'll be back to this wonderful property again,

Hyatt has a new policy for 2014 where they don't call the front desk anymore to get a suite upgrade confirmed. They send over a request and you're at the mercy of the hotel to process it.

I called twice last week to get a request processed. Never heard anything back and the next day the suite was already sold out.

Seems to be just a terrible policy.

Actually, they can process it immediately while you are on the phone.

I am hoping to start a diamond challenge in May (if it is still running). I would like to use a DSU for an upcoming stay at Andaz Maui in June/July. Right now the Partial Ocean View Suites are showing as available online. But that doesn't necessarily mean they are available for a DSU? Is there any strategy for ensuring there is still a POV suite available for points when I get my suite upgrades in May when I start the challenge (pre-booking it now, then calling to have it switched over, etc.)?

Are you planning on booking the Andaz on points? If so, you may not use your diamond suite upgrade towards the stay.

Usually if the hotel is showing availability, you are able to use a diamond suite upgrade; however, it is at the discretion of the hotel when you call in.

Due to the summer being a busy time for Maui, I am not sure how much I would rely on them being available a month in advance. If I were you, I would book two paid reservations (if you plan on using Diamond Suite Upgrade)--one in a regular room and one in a POV suite. Then, when you get the suite upgrades in your account to use, you can apply it to the regular room reservation and if there is nothing available, they can take it from your POV suite reservation and cancel that because you will definitely be within the cancellation period.

Just an idea, but I'm pretty sure it would work...
