Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

This entire property is very tired and in desperate need of a renovation. The service here is excellent though ^ (well with the exception of one front desk clerk).

Furniture equivalent? Airbrushing is a painting technique. It doesn't matter what you are airbrushing.

I just burned my last of 4 certs for this year, using it at the Churchill London in February.

I was assigned a 53 s/meter Regency Suite, which judging by the pictures on the website is similar to the one I got several years ago with a certificate upgrade.

Overall this was a great perk this year, 2 used in BKK, 1 in SIN and one in London. I would love it if they bumped the # to 6, but I'll take 4.

1. Churchill London
2. Regency King Suite
3. 53 sq m
4. 1 bedroom/1 bath
5. Definitely an A - especially because they let us keep it during the FFN part of our stay
6. Nice to be on the 9th (top) floor with balconies off the bedroom and sitting room, overlooking the park. They brought a rollaway into the sitting room for our 13yo, which made it a little less spacious, but still plenty of room for the three of us.

1. Hyatt Regency Santa Clara
2. Executive Suite
3. About 650 square feet
4. 1 bedroom/1.5 bath
5. B+
6. Newly remodeled with clean, modern furniture. Mattress was clearly newer and very comfortable. The bathroom is designed for handicapped travelers -- not sure if this is true for all suites or just mine (room 1132). The Regency club is always closed on the weekend so that is an automatic 2500 points. Plus I got 2000 points with the G2 offer code and 1000 points as my Diamond amenity. As well as a $50 breakfast in the morning. The rate was only $79/night and I used the Costco Hyatt Certificates to pay for it, so another 20% off. An outstanding value! About 6000 points, half of a FFN award, breakfast, an appetizer and a suite for exactly $80 out of pocket!

1. Hyatt Regency San Francisco
2. Balcony Suite. http://sanfranciscoregency.hyatt.com...ocale=&start=8
3. 585 sq ft
4. 1 bed, 1.5 bath.
5. B
6. Incompetent FD agent initially assigned regency club room. I emphasized that the suite upgrade had been confirmed by Diamond line. I was given room 840 (non-RC floor, and it was a SMOKING room! ). They claimed no other room is available. I thought once the upgrade is confirmed by diamond line the room is supposed to be pre-blocked?!

The room itself is fine. It has a separate parlor/living room with 40+" TV, a huge balcony. It has a jacuzzi-type bath with window overlooking the buildings on Market street.

RC lounge is huge. I had to catch an 8:30am flight out of SFO and the lounge isn't open until 7 on Sundays for breakfast, so they gave me a voucher for full breakfast downstairs which includes everything including gratuity.

Hyatt on the Bund - Shanghai

1. Hyatt on the Bund, Shanghai
2. Bund Suite River View King
3. 80 sq m/ 860 sq ft
4. 1 bed, 1 living room, 1 huge bath
5. A
6. Other info:

The Bund Suite River View rooms are in the East Tower with room nos. ending in 26. We were given room no. 926 and informed that for Diamond Suite upgrades they generally give suites on the 10th floor and lower.

The view from the living room, bed room and the bathroom is uniformly awesome. From the bedroom you can see both the Pudong New Area and the Bund. The bathroom are quite large and stretched because of the layout of the suite.

Had a great stay at the hotel and the Bund Club service is very good indeed. ^

I used a Diamond Suite upgrade at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco as well. They gave me the Governor's Suite. Located on the top floor, with a stunning view of the city, and the Bay. This is the only suite in the hotel that had not been renovated.. I was told by the hotel it's the best suite in the house. They only give it to VIPs. I must say the balcony in this suite was awesome. Top floor, large enough to hold a party of 20, with one of the best views of the city.

San Francisco Airport Suite upgrade.

I just used my second suite upgrade at San Francisco Airport Hyatt Regency. I would advise other Diamonds don't bother. The suite was nicely decorated but there are no Plasma, or flat screen T.V.s at this hotel. not even a DVD player! You have this beautiful suite with a old, outdated, 32" t.v. set in the room. It looks weird.

At check out I was told they get complaints about this everyday, in fact another Diamond who was using his suite upgrade the night before me.. made a huge scene at the front desk and I guess he checked out.

Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay. Used diamond upgrade cert.
Chesapeake Suite (we think; closest match to descriptions on web site, although desk clerk called it a "junior suite") ; 4th floor, RC is on 6th.
approximately 800sqft (~350 sqft bedroom w/king bed & full standard bath, adjoining living quarters with sofa & chairs, desk, 2nd full standard bath, dining table for 6). Ours was oddly shaped due to a corner in the building, others may be more simple rectangles.
B+.
Nice big room but not being on RC floor is a minus. Nice view of river from balcony obstructed by building. Had we been in the wing on the other side of the elevators the view would have been stunning. When we arrived at 2PM, were told we had to wait for our room as computer system had crashed that morning and had been down for 7+ hours. Got into room about 4. Might have had better room position if we'd been more patient but we wanted to clean up and change after traveling all day, plus have a chance to explore the property before dinner reservations at 7.

A real minus is the internet connectivity. Drops out all the time, even on wired connection. TV in living area fuzzy and in need of repair, but didn't make a big deal of it as only there for one night - although did mention it. Place overrun with kids. Had noisy family with multiple brats plus a crying toddler in adjacent room, but fortunately they all got quiet by about 10:30PM.

RC fare for evening was fajitas plus crudites, crackers and some cheese. Some bottles of wine were out with a pile of glasses and all were helping themselves.

A complete 'A+' for value (phone reservation agent found us a big discount, then we combined it with DEL5K, G3 and Costco certificates), but subtracting for the annoyances, a net B+.

Huntington Beach: "Director's Suite"

Stayed one night, Saturday, when at least one wedding party was occupying the hotel. Received what they called a Director's Suite, oceanfront with balconies on the 3rd floor. Certainly spacious and sunny, but boxier than the bay-windowed Governor's Suites (of which there are at least 6) overlooking both the pool and ocean. Last time I scored the latter. Two baths, of which one included both a jacuzzi tub and a walk-in shower (the other, just a shower). Living room with spacious sofa, easy chair, desk; and large bedroom including chair with ottoman, desk and chair. A-.
