Based upon requests, this is now a wiki - please feel free to edit - but please only post the suite that you are confirmed into and not what you ultimately get (eg PH Vendome books into Park Suite but many ultimately get a Park Executive Suite). I'll start with that one for formatting example - I will try to do refinements to this when I have some time later.

To check the room type you booked into, you may use Hyatt E-Concierge:

1. Monterey Hyatt, Monterey, CA
2. VIP Suite
3. 700 Sq Ft
4. Living room, 1 bedroom, 2 bathrooms (1 off bedroom with large walk in shower, 1 off living room with tub)
5. Very spacious, two flat panel TVs, one in each room
6. B - which in part reflects my frustration with the multiple buildings at this property, so that nothing is convenient to access, and in part reflects that we had a ground level suite looking out at the parking area

Did this use one of the confirmed suite upgrades? Or they just upgraded you as an extra?

A clarification, or did we already know this?

In the footnotes of today's "Diamond Membership Has Its Benefits" email from Mr. Zidell:

2. Suite upgrade awards valid on stays of seven nights or less; excludes Specialty, Premier, Presidential and Diplomatic Suites...

No upgrade award was taken so it was extra.

GH NYC

Hello all and Happy New Year. Apologies if this is posted in the wrong thread.

I've booked an upcoming stay at the GH in NYC in mid January and had hoped to use a Suite Upgrade which will expire in Feb. I"ve just been told by a Hyatt Consumer Affairs spokesman that the hotel allocates Jr Suites for such upgrade certs and that during my stay none are available. Any suggestions?

I'm looking at then booking a combo of paid nights / FFN at the PH in DC and have not even attempted to use a Suite upgrade (i have 2 left).

Thanks in advance

Did the rep put you on hold and call the property? If not, call the Diamond line. Otherwise call the property directly. It is not uncommon for the GH NYC to allocate a higher category suite if no junior suites are available such as the Lexington. Some Diamond have been able to secure VIP suites as well.

Any experiences using one of these with a conference rate? I think the T&Cs suggest that wouldn't work, but GH Singapore let me do this on a highly discounted group rate.

I have a reservation for GH Kauai for next week, initially booked at my corporate rate and confirmed in a suite. I called in to GP to ask if there was a group rate for my conference a few months ago, and the agent found one and changed the reservation assuring me the suite upgrade would stay. Now I look at the reservation and the upgrade is gone. I don't really care in the end, but I hate getting inconsistent information like this.

Edited to add:
Wow, what service from GP. I just called to explain the situation and inquire and after a few minutes on hold we are back in a suite. What a deal, we are in a suite for an entire week on a $210 rate at the GH Kauai! GH Singapore rate was even less than that and we also spent a week there. I have to say that this benefit is almost perfectly tailored for me and really is a huge increase in value of the GP program.

great info. I rang the hotel (used skype very bad connection) got put through to someone in the Club (i think) a few minutes explaining and wishing happy new year from Malaysia and while they were explaining they would do their best, I received an update from Hyatt concierge, noting that the Suite is confirmed. Thanks again.

Upgrade

Didnt use upgrade cert as we were staying on FFN but were upgraded at check in to VIP suite, very large around 900-1000 sq feet.
2 rooms, full sitting room with table for 4, large bedroom
2 bathrooms both full one with jetted tub.
Regency club closed so we get breakfast in dining room and coupns for appetizer and soft drinks in Petes bar and 2 coupns for coffee/tea in Starbucks at resort.
Very happy, have only been Diamond since Nov, just this stay and the FFN make it worth it

Considering that the OP was upgraded to a VIP suite on an award stay this would be totally inappropriate.
