Yes, this is a new Diamond benefit (as of 4/09) - each year you get 4 confirmed electronic suite upgrades - just call to make your reservation and tell them you want to use a suite upgrade. The paper ones have been phased out.

1. Grand Hyatt New York
2. Diamond lines confirmed a Junior suite with upgrade certificate with a request for a VIP suite. According to check-in clerk all VIP suites were occupied (hyatt.com confirmed this.) I mentioned that I'd just stepped off a 21 hour flight from Sydney, it was my partner's birthday and to her credit she gave me two keys; one for a Junior suite, and the other for a Premier suite on the top floor of the hotel. Premier suite was a larger junior suite with an additional dining area. Doesn't appear to be listed on the website.
3. 1 Bedroom (2 sofa beds in the living room)/ 1 bathroom (actually I would say 1/2 it is so small!), large living and dining area.
4. Happy with the upgrade.

Junior Suite
Just really a double sized room.
Seating area and bed area seperated by a low level desk unit with TV on - a bit like the Hyatt at Dulles if you know it.
Single bathroom - bath/shower/toilet
Fire exit to the corridor made it noisy.

1. O'Hare Hyatt
2. Regency Suite, in back tower that is used for elite guests. (There are two level suites in the front tower with a spiral staircase but did not see one.)
3. 672 sq ft
4. 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom
5. C - I felt the suite was poorly designed. The bedroom was not a completely separate room. When you entered the suite, the bedroom was to the right. The walls were roughly 7/8 high. There was no door (nor any windows). Because of this, light and sound came into the bedroom. I had booked the suite because my husband and I had body clocks 9 hours different than each other. It really was impossible to use the living area without disturbing the person in bed. Further, the desk area was positioned such that the flight from it was at the perfect angle to flood into the bedroom.
The bathroom was cramped. The shower was in the tub; there was a single sink; and there was barely room for one person.
There were benches across the front of the two windows. Both sacrificed comfort for design. They looked great, but you didn't want to use them. The living area was attractive, but there was inadequate illumation. The only lamp was by the TV. There was no place to sit and have light to be able to read a book.
6. The view from the suite was over the rear parking lot.

HR Tamaya Resort & Spa, New Mexico
Recently burned a Confirmed Suite Upgrade at a Resort that hasn't been reported on this thread yet. Made the same-day room reservation online and then called in to request the upgrade 5 minutes later. Arrived at the hotel 30 mins later and the front desk agent said he had spoken to GP on the phone 30 mins ago with my upgrade request. Since it was a slow night, he said they double upgraded me to an Executive Suite ($389 on hyatt.com) instead of the standard Jr Suite ($289 on hyatt.com) that would be given as a Confirmed Diamond Suite upgrade. FWIW, standard room that I booked was $189. Arrived at the room after a long walk down many halls and it was actually a named specialty Suite, but still fits the description of the Exec. Suite, so maybe all Exec Suites here have names?
1. Hyatt Tamaya
2. Executive Suite
3. 754 Sq Ft
4. 1 bedroom & 1 bathroom
5. Yes, B
6. Full size refrigerator, RC access as Diamond, 2 walkout balconies facing the golf course to the West rather than the Sandia Mountains, 2 large flat screen TVs (one in bedroom and one in separate sitting room). My only problem with the room was the Internet cable. There was a desk in the bedroom, but no wired internet in there. Rather the wired Internet cable was in the living room, but there was no desk in there. The Internet cable was just set up next to the couch, and could only stretch about 3 feet from where it was.
The worst part is that the only power plug was behind the couch, so you had to move this big giant couch, dive back behind it to plug and unplug your laptop, and then connect your laptop to the wired internet which you could only place on the couch since there was no where else the wire would stretch to. So I was on the couch sideways for several hours that night while using the Internet. I may still be partially permanantly bent sideways from the experience. Hope I go back to normal someday.
I certainly learned my lesson just to use the wireless Internet there in the future. @:-)

HR Atlanta
Let me preface this by saying that this isn't the greatest hotel in the world, and I wouldn't normally waste a suite upgrade here. I came with very low expectations, but the HR really excelled. I was in Atlanta for a weeklong meeting, and needed a suite for a reception on Saturday night. I hopped between this hotel and the HP (a block away) to maximize FFN, and was very pleasantly surprised that the HR gave me my suite upgrade for all 4 stays! In fact, I had two types of suites, the Crown suite for my regular nights, and the International suite for the night of the reception.
1.) Hyatt Regency Atlanta
2a) Crown suite
3a) 440sqft
4a) Standard sized bedroom + large living room, refurbished recently, 2 old TVs, 1 small bathroom (very plain and un-suite-ish).
2b) International suite
3b) 750sqft
4b) Standard sized bedroom + large reception area (=taking up the size of a Crown suite) + kitchenette/bar area. Nice large balcony. Same plain bathroom.
5) Very unimpressive suite (especially the bathrooms are a huge let-down). My wife would not be happy if we got this on a vacation. Refurbished and generally nice, though, and great for my purposes. And of course it was very nice of them to let me have the suite for all 4 stays. Given the circumstances of my stay, I'll give it an A. On a vacation, it'd be a C-.
6) Very friendly staff! Extremely helpful and welcoming.

Hyatt Regency St Louis at the Arch
1. Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch
2. Junior Suite
3. Not Sure of Sq. Ft. but about twice the size of regular room
4. 1 Bedroom Plus a Living Room with sofa and chair. 37" flat screen in each room. Refrigerator in bedroom area.
5. Overall I'd give it a B+
6. Corner Room with 3 very large windows. Located on Regency Club floor. Furnished with their "European style furnishings". A very wierd floor lamp that hangs about four feet into the room, making it very hard to turn on (foot switch to turn it on). Also not a single drawer in either room, not even at the desk.
Paid a AAA promo rate of $80.10 per night over Thanksgiving weekend, including their buffet breakfast at the Red Restaurant (normally $14.95 a person)
