Any easily comped Platinum Card new member deals about?
 

A work colleague will be staying at a half dozen USA Hyatt's next month doing consulting in various larger cities.

He has no Hyatt status and thought I'd ask if there are any easy to access promos around that he can get the mid level Plat card before he starts off, so at least he'll get some Bennies right from day #1. :)

Starwood seem to have Gold cards on open offer on ebay for $35 even (probably TA's selling what they should be comping good clients!) but he said he could not see anything from Hyatt on offer - maybe they are more vigilant than Starwood?

If he has Hilton Gold or SPG Gold (along with 10 nights to get those statuses), why not have him status match to Hyatt Diamond? Hyatt Diamond is MUCH better than Hyatt Plat, which is fairly close to worthless except the amenity every 3rd stay.

I don't think he has either to be honest. :)

Something would suit him, rather than nothing. :cool:

I have numerous gold and platinum statuses at various hotel programs, but I have them thru AmEx Cent (i.e. I don't have a high number of stays). Any idea if Hyatt would comp me to Diamond? I already have Hyatt Platinum, but nowhere near Diamond so far...

Doubt it, but you can always try. I've heard Hyatt requires you to fax in proof of a paltry 10 stays in the past year to get status matched to Hyatt Diamond (no idea why it's not 25 stays since that's what Hyatt requires to get Diamond). But if all your statuses are from Amex Cent and you don't have the 10 stays under your belt to show Hyatt, I'm not sure if it will work. But give it a try anyways.................it sure can't hurt.
