Chiang Mai
Is this hotel still scheduled to open 2009, or did something happen? I saw it listed in a Park Hyat brochure when we were at the PH Tokyo recently, but I was just on the Hyatt site and there is no mention, but it does mention a new hotel due in 2010 at Koh Samui.
So have they shelved Chiang Mai plans? I was looking forward to using the Hyatt as an excuse to go there again, so I will be disappointed if they have. |
Dear FlyerTalk Members:
I see there is an interest in our newest Park Hyatt property in Thailand. The Park Hyatt Chiang Mai is scheduled to open in 2010 during the third quarter of the year. I apologize for the confusion as I am aware the Park Hyatt website states the property will be open in 2009. To avoid confusion, we will have this information updated on the website. I hope this information has been helpful to you in making your reservations to our worldwide destinations. Sincerely, Karen Smith Gold Passport Concierge |
Chiang Mai and, the whole of Thailand will soon be one giant hotel

Sure, there's going to be one in Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Phuket, Pattaya.... I guess Hyatt's playing catch-up to Starwood openings throughout Bangkok. |
Hyatt can probably have a few more in Thailand, maybe a Park Hyatt Bangkok besides the Peninsula?
|
And they should have them right now. Phuket has been delayed again.
The former Panwaburi in Phuket, then scheduled to open as a Conrad and still not opened, the Royal Meridien Baan Taling Ngam in Koh Samui and Rayavadee in Krabi would perfectly fit in the PH brand. (Of course, after some renovations) |
Park Hyatt Koh Samui
The Park Hyatt is scheduled to open in 2010.
http://kohsamui.park.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp Should be very exciting. :)

Consider, how many times HR Phuket has been delayed. It's still not opened.
I wouldn't espect PH Koh Samui before 2011. |
I guess something happened to the once-future Park Hyatt Chiang Mai, as I no longer see it on the list of future properties here:
http://www.park.hyatt.com/locations/locations.asp or here: http://www.hyatt.com/hyatt/about/press/future.jsp |
I don't blame them for cancelling or postponing new developments in this economy. PH Chaing Mai would have been a very good reason for some weekend stays there.
