Do Benefits Apply on Group Rate?

Apologies if I missed it here, but I couldn't find anything regarding my question.

I've got a 3 night stay that is part of a group/conference and it turns out it will be at the Hyatt. If I flash my Diamond card, will they be able to give me any of the amenities (points, lounge access, etc.)? I also have a Suite upgrade certificate and wonder if that would also work.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

You should get status perks (since Hyatt gives them for all stays - regular - award - Priceline/Hotwire etc). Points are a bit iffy, if its central billed (the sponsoring organization is paying directly - you might not). Stay credit is again iffy since some negotiated rates officially do not earn you stay credit. Suite upgrade cert probably won't work but ask at check-in since you might be pleasantly surprised.

Why not call and have them add your diamond number to your reservation? If they cannot do that let us know since I have never heard of such a reservation.

I'll give it a shot... the only thing is it is an event sponsored by another party. I may not even know whether I will even be given any info on my room until possibly the day everyone shows up at the hotel and they hand out key cards (and possibly roommates).

If you didn't book a "conference rate" yourself, I the suite upgrade is slim IMHO. Last conference rate I booked through Hyatt.com, I got credit and the bonus points associated with the property.

You're making this harder than it is. Find out if its a central bill. If it is; you're probably out of luck. If its not and its in your name, call and get your number added to the res. Worst case, drop your card at arrival and hope for the best. Hey, at least its a Hyatt. People hold meetings at La Quintas and make you make your own waffle for breakfast.
