Random 5000 Point Bonus

Hi All,

While checking to see if that last stay has credited for my last FFN, I see a what looks like a totally random 5000 point present in my account from Hyatt. It is not a Hyatt Platinum Extras award (it's been fun to see that thread going on for the last few days), it is not for staying at Hyatt Places (Since those stays don't seem to have registered yet - grr,and they should show up as separate 2500's), and I'm afraid to call and ask what the bonus is for.

Anyone other diamonds out there get a 5000 point bonus today, not tied to any particular stay? Did I register for some promotion 6 months ago and forget, and now finally did the computer cough up the points?

Thanks

Can't figure this out either

Looking at my account, I see:

23 Nov 2007 25 Nov 2007 Irvine Stay 1,087 1,163 2,250 Points

from a recent stay where I spent only about $250 for a 2-nighter. Why they rounded me up to 2250 points, I don't know.

Who am I to wonder why... I'll just take 'em and figure they know what they are doing.

Yes - with the 30% bonus and a G1 or something connected to a stay, that might happen. But this 5000 pointer is not connected to any type of stay. I'm paying pretty close attention to this only because I'm booking 2 back-to-back 5 Night Passport Escapes in Kauai in March, and I was just going to squeek in with the 250K points. But all of a sudden, a totally random 5000 points credit appears, not connected to a stay.

Not that I'm complaining, but it's usually the other way around. Wait 2 weeks, log in, tell them that the Hyatt Century didn't give you the G2 bonus, . . .

They mistakenly posted the 5K GP points for not having the bed preference right. The code for that is similar to one for the promotional points.

Bruce, 163 is exactly 15% of 1087, which is normal earnings on $217.40 before taxes. Perhaps the 1000 is a G1 or similar & it just happens to = 2250 on the nose!

BTW, Holtju2, when I checked in at HR Chicago in Oct. they had no DD rooms (but I ended up not needing 2 beds) & my assigned K room was not yet ready at 2PM, so I talked my way into an upgrade to Deluxe Room with free RC access for my 3-night stay.
I was so satisfied that I did not push for the 5K.

Out of curiosity, holtju2, what is that code?

BTW I have posted the code on this forum. You could probably ask a clueless front desk employee to input it into the promo field and get 5K bonus points every stay. :D

Click on the "view" link in the "view details" column all the way on the right on that line to see what they credited you. No wondering required. :)

But it sure sounds like a normal stay + elite bonus + G1.

Although I did a search I didn't find it would you PM it on request or even share it here ?

Probably a mistake more than anything else.
