End of Year Diamond Qualification Question

By any chance has anyone heard of any quick diamond qualifying promotions for the end of 2007?

In the past, they've run double stay promotions but I've yet to hear of any for this year.

Thanks for the help!

nothing currently that I've heard of going on like that. Maybe in 2008.

Nothing this year. Had they done it, it would have been announced already.

Thanks for everyone's reply, the help is greatly appreciated.

Has anyone had any luck getting diamond status renewed if they've had a few less than 25 stays?

Thanks again.

Not that I've heard of.

However, every now & then they do offer fast track to Diamond early in the year. It's a targetted offer and not everyone who misses requalifying gets it.

It's possible with enough begging (know someone it happened to), if they do it, it will be a one-time exception that I think they will notate on your account such that if I'm close enough, I haven't wanted to use it and just do the matress run so if I ever need to do it, it's when circumstances are dire.

3 years ago I had 24 stays near the end of December and had a stay planned for the 31st (checking out on 1/1). I called CS to make sure that this stay would count as my 25th stay and was told that it would.

A couple of week later when I received a platinum package I realized that it did not. I called CS and asked about it. They told me that I had been misinformed the first time but upgraded me to Diamond anyway. I was fortunate in that case.

Lesson learned.

Your best bet is to look for those promotions earlier in the year (like the Hyatt Place double credit offer in January(?) of this year and take full advantage. Otherwise, do all of your MRs during FFN. With the Kowloon property not opening up until 2009, I'll have some difficulty in making Diamond for my 8th consecutive year. Hopefully I can find the $79 HP rates during FFN like I did this year.

Given that there are still over 3 weeks left to the year, and there will most likely be some cheapo holiday specials offered by Hyatt, you may want to rethink the M/R option for a few more stays. Then if you're very close to the 25 mark try begging & pleading with the GP staff.

Wow, thanks for all the responses!

I really appreciate everyone helping me out with this. I will update once I come up with a plan.

Thanks again.
