How to enter CR and special offer codes
Hi,
I'm coming over from Starwood. So I'm jus to enter my set-number and the system will tell me if it is valid and if there have been rates loaded. Once in a while there is a drop down box and I can choose a special offer. With Hyatt I'm lost. I can enter G1, G2, whatever no response if it is OK or not. I enter my CR-Number with the format CR 12345 (including a space and excluding one) nothing happens. What do I do wrong ? Thanks for your help |

You can also just remove the "CR" and just type in the numbers after it as that results in the same thing. Not all CR's are valid at all Hyatt properties FWIW..........
Make sure you enter it in the "Group/Corp #" box as the above poster stated, NOT the "Special Offer Code" box. I've unintentionally made that mistake before. |

Make sure you enter it in the "Group/Corp #" box as the above poster stated, NOT the "Special Offer Code" box. I've unintentionally made that mistake before. Unlike SPG, you don't have to do it twice, once with the code and once without it to see all rates. Hyatt's rate display is much better than SPGs. (though, for AAA rates, etc, you will want to use that pull-down box to see those rates.) The special offer codes don't really do anything for G1, G2 or G3 at the time you make the reservation. You just have to know which one to enter, and you have to enter it at check-in anyway. Even then, you have to know the right one and you still have to make sure it posts when the stay posts. (account detail, click on that stay for a breakdown of points awarded. The stay details will also show "mastercard charge" if you pay with M/C and that's the thing that adds to the FFN counter during FFN promotions, which usually require payment with M/C to be eligible.) If for some reason the bonus doesn't post, just email GP with the details. -David |
Thank you for your help ^.
What happens if there is no special rate for my company ? I'm still trying to find out if I enter it wrongly or if there is no rate (Which I can't believe). |

Also, note that sometimes corporate rates are dependent on which day of the week you are staying there or even how many nights you are staying. For example, my corporate rate is only valid at the Hyatt Logan Airport, Mon - Fri, and not on weekends. |

What happens if there is no special rate for my company ? Try the code with a property that you know has a special rate and last room availability for your companies rate and has availability for that room type on that date. If it doesn't work there, then the code must be wrong. You can call Hyatt and they might give you the code. They definitely know how to look it up because you can ask for your companies rates when you call Hyatt reservations. My companies code starts with 2 letters, followed by 5 digits. The letters are not "CR". I have to enter the letters and the digits. I guess you might need to enter the letters and the digits. -David |
I think besides CR, some codes also start with NC

No, you don't need to. If you enter the applicable digits (no letters), it works fine as long as your company has special/negotiated rates at the property.

I think that SPG is actually easier. You can call SPG and have them link your corporate rate (SET #) to your SPG account # and then all searches will by default return your corporate rate. Hyatt doesn't appear to have that functionality, so I must type in my CR# before each search, and in fact re-type it in each time I revise the search (if only by one day) because the site so helpfully removes it.

The only reason I said it's easier than SPG is that in order to see all rates on spg.com, you have to try it with and without your SET code and remember to check the leisure rates box when you remove your SET code. On hyatt.com, one screen displays all rates. Somebody on ft will always have a different perspective. Go figure. You might feel differently, but the one screen with all rates wins my ease of use award. :) -David |
CR now applied to Hyatt Place too
Not sure if this is new to others, but it seems like the website can now apply Corp codes to Hyatt place hotels too. I always found it frustrating in the past to have to call to make a rez since the website would not recognize a CR at Hyatt Place.

This is especially so at weekends and during promotional periods. To the OP Try this (non condidential corporate rate at (say) Miami just to see how it works: 15985 You will see the corporate name |
