Hyatt to Operate Five-Star Abu Dhabi Hotel 10/11/2007 1:37:46 PM Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) announced that the exclusive new 200-room, five-star hotel in Abu Dhabi’s Capital Gate building, adjacent to the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, will be operated by Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. The hotel will open in 2009 and will be the first Hyatt-operated facility in the UAE capital city. According to ADNEC, Hyatt at Capital Centre will be one of the most exclusive hotels in the world. Hyatt currently operates three luxury hotels in Dubai, UAE under the Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency brands. “On behalf of the UAE Government I warmly welcome Hyatt to Abu Dhabi. Capital Gate is a unique building, which will become famous around the world and as such it was essential that the hotel was operated by an organization, which matched its status,” His Excellency Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nayhan, Chairman of Capital Center and ADNEC commented about the announcement. “The fact that the property has been developed specifically for this project indicates an understanding by all involved that this is not an average hotel, building, or city – this is something unique and very special, which will exceed expectations.” Gebhard Rainer, Hyatt Managing Director, Europe, Africa & Middle East added, “Hyatt is under a major expansion strategy in the Middle East. We have been monitoring the incredible developments taking place in Abu Dhabi for some time and, for us, Capital Gate is the right building in the right location at the right time. Capital Centre is one of the Middle East’s most significant developments, and I am delighted that Hyatt at Capital Centre is able to play its part in driving this unique project forward.” ADNEC recently announced that preparatory construction had begun on Capital Gate. When complete, Capital Gate will be 525 feet and 35 stories tall, and in addition, Hyatt at Capital Center, will provide the most exclusive office space in the UAE capital city. |

Certainly not the full-on gold-plated Dubai-style sheikh, rattle and roll that actually kinda terrifies me... So that makes two curious upcoming Abu Dhabi properties... |
I noticed that there are photos of the rooms posted in the new park hyatt:

Yeah, unfortunately they were both posted as opening end quarter 2010, which seems to now be mid 2011 and early 2011. Looking forward to both!

I asked about these yesterday and both now apparently put back to Q4 this year.
