Really basic Q's

Ok, so I decided to dump HH, and matched my MR Plat to Diamond. VERY EASY!!!^^

I am booking the next 5 or so stays..and have a few Q's...being a TOTAL moron w/Hyatt.

In regards to reading just about EVERY thread it seems...I am confused on if a "rate" that includes extras...ie valet parking promo, breakfast, etc, will COUNT towards FFN. Some conflicting info in these threads.

Also, will the AAA rate count?

Another Q-the diamond arrival gift...is it 1000pts? It doesnt SAY specifically what it is on the website!

Hope I dont get too many "search at the top" responses...trust me, I have tried to find the EXACT ANSWERS with no luck so far.

If you have booked your stay on hyatt.com, it should post as a stay credit toward FFN.

Yes

All hotels in the US offer the 1000 diamond arrival gift. In some cases, you have your choice of alternative gifts (generally food and beverage, but a t-shirt at the DC Hyatt a while back). It's your choice.

Welcome to Hyatt!

I have copied the relevant portion of the terms and conditions for FFN below.

To qualify, you must be a Hyatt Gold Passport member, provide your Hyatt Gold Passport account number at reservation/check-in, be a registered guest physically occupying the room to which you are registered, pay an Eligible rate, and make full payment on a valid MasterCard card for each separate stay. "Eligible Rate" is any hotel published room rate, including, but not limited to rates found on hyatt.com, hyattplace.com, hyattsummerfiedsuites.com, prevailing rack rate, BAR, volume, AAA and senior citizen rates, etc. "Ineligible Rates" are discounted rates, including, but not limited to, any free night stays, Internet wholesale rates (such as priceline.com, hotels.com, etc.), traditional wholesale rates (such as GOGO Worldwide Vacations, Pleasant Holidays, etc.), airline crew rates, airline employee rates, travel agency employee rates, Club at the Hyatt discount certificate stays, Hyatt Vacation Club stays, Hyatt employee or employee family discount rates, airline interrupted-trip vouchers or contracted rooms (a contract room is a room that has been reserved pursuant to a written and executed agreement between a hotel and a corporation, government agency or individual for a negotiated room rate in exchange for an agreed upon number of rooms to be rented for an extended period of time).

To answer your specific questions, yes, AAA rate does count toward FFN. As shown in the T&Cs, if it can be booked online through Hyatt it will count. A 1000 GP point bonus is one option for the diamond amenity. Hotels also offer various food/beverage options such as a cheese or fruit plate with a bottle of wine (often a half bottle).

At Hyatt place and Summerfield Suites Diamonds only get 500 points, not 1000.

Be careful with the "package" rate that includes "extras" - many of these may not count towards stay credit (and therefore FFN) - when in doubt confirm with GP.

AAA is always safe.

I'm pretty sure you can't store your credit card info on hyatt.com

Please dont shoot me with all of these "novice" ?'s, but I checked into a HP for the first time ever, tonight. I was told "Diamonds get nothing here!"

Do I need to do anything for the 500 points? Or just wait, and they post automatically?!?!

No report on the Nashville Opryland HP exists, but I will do one when I am done. First impression is WOW! 100bucks for all of this!!!:cool:

The 500 points post with the stay. Never had a problem at HP with the 500 bonus. The problem is to get the stay its self to post.

BETA Sep 11, 2007 9:27 am

Some of the Hyatt Places also qualify for G1, G2, or G3 bonuses. These have also be problematic regarding posting.

You can because I have mine stored, but for the life of me, I can't remember how I did it. I thought it would be under "Update My Profile", but I don't see the box for it anywhere. I'll post again if I figure out how I did it.

I would think calling Hyatt GP would accomplish it, but I know I did it somehow online.

gregorygrady Sep 12, 2007 11:12 am

If you remember how you did it, please post back here because I would love to know how to keep my CC (I mean my M/C) stored in my online profile. ^
