How not the pay the Prevailing rate? International

Hello i am new here!

I am just curious how everyone is finding better rates on international Hyatt locations? I plan to travel to Japan and purchase 1 night at a qualifying rate, then use stay certificates for the remainder of my stay. I intend to upgrade with points on my paid night and hopefully not get moved when i use the certificates for the rest of the nights. Is this kind of logic possible?
Century Hyatt and HR Osaka are the hotels I plan to stay in

thanks

Hi zxsuxr, welcome to FT. I'd say there is a fairly good chance it would work at these hotels, although I have no direct experience of trying it.

It would be harder to get this to work at the GH or PH.
