Points for incidental charges while staying at ineligible rate
I am a consultant staying at the customer contracted rate at one of the Hyatt Regency Hotels. The rate itself is not eligible for points accrual, but I was not clear about the (very substantial) incidentals. The response from Gold Passport was that, yes, I should receive credit for eligible incidental charges even staying at ineligible rate. When the charges were incorrectly calculated I wrote to Gold Passport again, but another agent replied that I was not due any points at all because the rate was not eligible. Very confused. It seems every agent interprets the rules differently. Does anyone here knows what the rules are and/or has has similar experience?

The rules have always been that qualifying incidentals earn points. When you find this sort of resistance, it's worthwhile to ask for a supervisor. I don't know personally how the general GP Customer Service is (I've heard it's great), but the Diamond desk is truly outstanding and accommodating.
