I am here at Churchill and peeked in the RC and it is mostly finished, just need to move in the furniture. It is a lt bigger than before and from what I have been told, they added 1 more rooms to the RC.
It would start operating April 12 and April 11 is the official photo-ops, etc. The rooms in the south wing on the 8th floor and 9th floor will come back online as well end of this week or next week.

I was originally preallocated a room on the 7th floor and when asked, the front desk reallocated a room on the 8th floor for me. I eneded up checking in a lot later than I expected rather than early checkin so that might have helped. The Molton Brown in the bathroom was great but there were no diamond amenity, perhaps due to the room change so I might ask for Molton Browns for the amenity tomorrow.

The RC offering is a little lighter compared to my memory of previous trips. Tomoto and buffolo mozarella on a stick, grilled peppers strips, potatoes salad, some plain puff pastry, cheese with bread (but no olive oil), a baby mousse thing and wines/champagne with 5-6 bottles for mixed drinks.

This is still one of my favourite properties but It would be nice when the renovation is over.

Just a quick note to say that I never got my Diamond amenity for my 2 days award stay despite mentioning that to one of the RC concierges on the middle day after seeing them going around with the cart on day 2. They gave me a new room on the RC on check in so I suspected the amenity was waiting for me in the original room.

In my never ending quest for coin-op laundries, I am pleased to report another success near the Churchill. Exit the hotel at the front, turn left, and then left again on Upper Berkeley St. Walk a few blocks to Seymour Place, turn left, and there it is!

Edited to add: and it is a pretty ratty laundry, with coin stealing soap machines -- buy that elsewhere first! However, there is a pub right across the street from which you can watch your clothes cleaning.

A quick report on our stay from Wed until today. While the physical property itself is pretty nice, I don't really like the location for tourist purposes. Also, the staff was a little strange - arrived at the hotel around noon (desk clerk said RC is sold out but we would get RC access - but no room was pre-blocked and the "best" room that she could find wasn't cleaned but would be in 2 hours) - came back at 2:30 (room still wasn't cleaned - the 2nd desk clerk asked if I'll be around the lobby so she can get me when she's notified that it's cleaned - I replied yes) - by 3:30 nobody had notified me so went back to the desk (and given the room key - but told no RC access but restaurant breakfast - which they would send up the certificates for - never did receive but the restaurant confirmed the breakfast each morning). Seems like staff training is in order.

Checked into this property last night and the staff were overwhelmingly accommodating. The front desk clerk called right up to the RC, and escorted me to the elevator where she used her key card to hit the "8" button. When I got to the RC floor, everything was ready for my arrival. The staff today were excellent as well...remembering humorous anecdotes from past stays.

The only problem: a loud thumping from the air-conditioning unit that is about to be addressed by engineering...

^ so far...

Okay, Jeff took a vacation day on Friday. We left here early (7AM Dusseldorf time, arriving 7 London time ...) We got to the Hyatt at 8somethingAM... Our room ... on the regency club floor ... was ready for us to check in. How fab was that!!!

They saw Nick and asked if we needed a crib? (it was in our reservation, but as long as they took care of it...) Plus they sent up a full bottle of Shampoo and a full bottle of baby powder for him...

We checked into room 830. Nice, but not big. It was nice. Period. Enough said. Bed nice. Bathroom nice. Nothing incredible, but new and nice and great...

The club was FABULOUS in our opinion...

INCREDIBLE SERVICE! Tatiana is FABULOUS. We did not meet her husband, but he works downstairs... Richard and Rodrigo bent over backward to do everything for Nick. They continued to drag the high chair in and out. They scrubbed it clean. There were a number of sets of families with kids.

We received a diamond amenity without asking ... two LARGE bottles of water and a bottle of red.

It was FABULOUS...

Nice food ...

Breakfast:
Great bread for toast
other bread for toast
strudels
chocolate croissants (okay...)
fruit salad
incredible straw berries
cold cuts
fruit
yogurt
cereal
cucumbers
peppers
tomatos
tea
coffee
yummy oj

During the day:
yummy cookies

Evening:
Champagne (Mercier --- by Moet and Chandon)
Red
White
Mixed Drinks
Beer (Carlsburg)
Chocolate covered strawberried
Chocolate covered orange fruit
pralines
Tomato and Mozzarela appetizer
Other pate
Other appetizers that varied by day
cut up vegetables (celery, carrots, cucumber, peppers)

All day long: (6AM - 11PM):
soda
water with bubbles
water without bubbles
beer

It was a nice location. Easy to walk around with the Bugaboo...

Nick was not too happy with the first crib and they brought up a different one. That has never happened (that Nick has not instantly fallen asleep!) They were fabulous...

Top to Bottom ... FABULOUS!!!

And as a bonus...on our Eurowings flight home (we were supposed to be on a full service LH flight, but after 3 hours they brought in a EW plane ...)

Gisele Bundchen and Leonardo Dicaprio were sitting next to us!!!
Ditto on all counts, and special praise to brilliant GM Michael Gray, who has pulled it all together so well. Those of us who knew him and his special talents at the former Park Hyatt Carlton Tower in Belgravia knew that when he finally found a site for a new Hyatt, it would become a special place indeed, and it has, at every level. The RC staff, both at the desk and in the lounge, are incomparable. Likewise Con and his staff in the bar, the very helpful and knowledgeable concierges, and the genuinely friendly reception staff. Be sure to treat yourself to a bedtime treat of sticky toffee pudding from Montagu's, and pop round the back of the hotel for a cheap and delicious sandwich at the Apulian deli there.

That is not thumping that is banging on the walls of Diamond members who were denied Regency Club Access due to overcrowding in the new lounge

Enjoy your stay it sounds like the hotel is back on track again to providing excellent experiences ^

We must have been there at the same time. My stay was fine and everything worked. There is a new GBP5 charge for emptying the mini-bar. HVAC worked fine for me, the club was fine too -- never made it there for breakfast though!

Too bad - that is the second time that our stays overlapped!

Is the RC in the same area it was before (to the right off the elevator galley)?? And do you now need a 'key card' to access the 8th fl ?

RC is in exactly the same place, and to be honest, I didn't really see many changes...

You need a key card after a certain hour, but during the day, at least for now, access to 8 was keyless

The food/drink pantry serving area in the RC was enlarged. They used to have a small semi-private room on the left, it was removed and now there is more space for munchies and drinkies.
