We just had a VERY nice stay here for an anniversary celebration. Reserved a patio room and was upgraded to an oversized patio room. It was on the ground floor with double doors opening to the patio directly facing the pool, which had only a few people in it. It was just wonderful to sit outside on the patio and sip one of their $5 bar specials. The hotel is adjacent to the connector of highways 101 and 12, but all we heard on our patio was a low hum. I'm noise sensitive but it posed no problem. Inside, the room was totally silent. Only suggestion I had was that the room have some artwork as all the walls were bare. Just some enlarged photos of the beautiful surrounding area would be perfect.

Front desk service was perfect. Robert not only pleasantly checked us in but escorted us to our room and got a bucket of ice for us. Soon after a bottle of wine, 2 Evians, and a plate of chocolate coated strawberries with a celebratory note of congratulations written in chocolate on the plate.

As the hotel has no Club, we had the Diamond breakfast the next morning and it too was outstanding. I had crab cakes Benedict and my wife had a shrimp omelet, both extremely tasty and at the high end, price wise, on the menu. No charges, including the tip, appeared on our bill at checkout.

This was our second stay here and we are looking forward to our next visit.

Re the diamond breakfast at the restaurant, is there some kind of $$ limit or is it limite to one entree kind of thing?

Coffee, juice and an entree each plus service . I was once charged for a refill of OJ but this was taken off the bill when I queried it.

Had a 3 night stay with Diamond suite upgrade. Chose points as amenity. Room was dated, suite had 2 queens. Since we travelled with 2 kids, got a rollaway and daughter reports it was very comfortable. Very quiet room w/garden view. Breakfast all 3 days was very good, service top notch. Had one morning's charge on bill but was removed quickly at checkout. Only complaint was the corned beef hash--they served it deconstructed and it was quite dry. Why bother with a flat screen when all channels are standard def? (hotel pet peeve). Pleasant staff, would def return.

Here's a pet peeve of mine and for some reason this hotel is among the worst (that I have notice)

Stay 6/13-6/16: BAR $269
Stay 6/14-6/17: BAR $269
Stay 6/14-6/16: Guaranty available rate $499

So, they have a 3-night minimum for weekends? Seems a little excessive, no?

This hotel just seems to rub me the wrong way.

I've seen this at other Napa/Sonoma properties as well.

+1 For those who are looking for something close to the Sonoma and/or Napa wineries, I cannot recommend this property based on location or room quality.

We stayed here this weekend. I was quite disappointed in the so-called "suite" which was really just a large room with a couch and easy chairs. Definitely not worth using my suite upgrade cert. The room itself was quiet despite being around the corner from the elevator and maid closet. We faced the courtyard and did not hear any freeway noise.

The rooms themselves are not deluxe by any means though the bathroom was quite large and had a separate tub. Bed was comfortable, robes in closet, but precious little storage space. Shower did not have any shelf space or anywhere to hang towels. There was a small refrig and a safe that was too small for my 15" laptop. Wifi connection was good was reasonably fast. No free water in room. No parking or resort fees.

Breakfast at the so-called Brasserie was great though the food prep was glacial. Personally I prefer a buffet where I can grab something quick rather than wait 1/2 hour for eggs benedict or even a bagel and salmon. Generous portions and everything was comp'd for Diamond members (except the tip). Free coffee in lobby ran out every morning (and was slow to refresh) and ends a bit early at 9:30am. No exec lounge. Small pool is fine for a dip but nothing special.

My biggest issue with the hotel is location and value - not at all convenient to Napa and a bit of a haul even to Kenwood/Sonoma. While this was fine for daytime driving, it was not at all fun driving back at night after dinner through a driving rainstorm on one-lane country roads with no street lights. For Napa I would take the Westin resort (which has nicer standard rooms than my "suite") or even the HGI or Marriott. For Sonoma I'd pick the Lodge or Sonoma Mission Inn (Fairmont). And if you require a more moderately priced property then I'd go instead with the Marriott Courtyard next door (cheaper or a good use of Cat 5 certs). IMO the Hyatt is not worth even $170/nt elite rate - it's really a cheap freeway property that isn't nestled in the vineyards.

We did not appreciate the "fresh scent" spray in our room - I actually had to take an allergy pill.

I agree its not a great property but we find it quite convenient and good value. For Napa I would recommend the Andaz which was very nice and of course very central to lots of restaurants and an easy drive to many of the vineyards.

Stayed there last month. I was told breakfast included tip. At checkout, had to remind them to remove the breakfast charge which they did along with the tip.

The rooms themselves are not deluxe by any means though the bathroom was quite large and had a separate tub.
For reference, based on my experience, there are 5 (?) basic room types at this property, which has 3 floors:

1) Standard room (324 sq. ft.), with regular small bathroom and regular tub, a typical hotel room.
2) "Deluxe" Standard room w/patio, basically a std. room on the ground floor with a door that opens to a small seating area outside (separated by lattice & planters) from the public courtyard(s).
3) Executive "suite", which is a larger room (486 sq. ft.) & larger bathroom (about double the size of std. bathroom). Bathroom has spa-jetted "soaking" tub (for 1), separate shower, 2 sinks; the toilet is not in a separate water closet. Sitting area has sofa & coffee table & 2 chairs, but is not walled off from the bed area. Mini-fridge in dresser; 1 TV.
4) Resort Suite, which does have a separate living room walled off from bedroom (which has a closeable door). The living area has a gas fireplace, small wet bar w/mini-fridge, sofa & coffee table & 2 chairs. TV's in both living and bed rooms. Bathroom, however, is much smaller than the Executive "suite" (almost half the size) but still has a spa-jetted tub (for 1) and separate shower.
5) ADA rooms, which don't have tubs, and seem to only have walk/roll-in showers. Not sure on size.

All rooms have the usual work desk and a small dresser. Diamonds get the Executive, or sometimes Resort, as an upgrade if available (unless sold out, of course). As noted in the Confirmed Suite Upgrade thread, using an upgrade cert. gets only the Executive "suite".

BTW, when booking on the web site, not all room types show up as "available" under all rate types or codes; check the different tabs if the room type you want isn't showing.

Also BTW, breakfast for Diamonds at the Brasserie sometimes shows up on the bill as "lunch" if you eat later in the morning, and doesn't get taken off automatically; be sure to check your bill.

As a Diamond, I've always had the "Executive Suite" as described here. I believe it's always been at the bend in the building, giving an expanded square footage and non-90 degree walls.

My wife and I are planning a weekend getaway here and want to use my pts to book the room. It is 12k pts per night. Is it worth that to stay here? I dont have enough for the Andaz which was my first choice but I may have enough in a few weeks. I'm just scared to wait to book because they sell out fast in that area.
