I had two 3 night stays over July 4th and again in early August and both stays were very good. Very, very close to a regular pre-covid stay (I never bother with the car service anyway). Was considering one more stay... What was so bad about your late August stay?

Sorry if my post was ambiguous -- DC was awful not the PH. I had been enjoying the trips to DC after covid protocols eased on May 21st (though mostly staying at the GH for location reasons)... once restrictions and masks came back on July 31, the whole city (IMO) went backwards, people got angstier, bars/restaurants stopped being fun, many places started closing earlier again, etc.

Experiences obviously vary, but I was in DC last weekend and had a great time. I didn't notice any significant "liveliness" regressions from my last trip in June (besides masks).
In regards to the PH Washington, I loved the bathroom in my Park Junior Suite (that shower really ups this property to luxury, in my opinion), and I also really loved looking through the (slightly outdated) Park Hyatt informational cards in the bedside box (one card for each location). The welcome gift chocolates were quite tasty, as well - give me chocolates over alcohol any day :-)

Seems a number of us were at the property at the same time or within a day or two of each other. I was staying for several nights so I used a TSU and ended up in a Park Suite. Plenty of space though the living room layout was odd and kind of useless. Not sure what they were going for, but it didn't really work.
The room had all the the normal amenities, including robes and slippers, which were noted as missing above.
Most everything in DC is open at this point and a lot less busy for touristy stuff than normal, so a great time to go if you ask me.
Breakfast was very good, not surprisingly.

FHR + globalist no upgrade
Just checking in. FHR + globalist when the app still showing Junior Suite available. FD denied any upgrade. I’m not that kind of DYKWIA people, but showed the FD the app. Still saying no availability. I hate to argue about these stuffs so didn’t push further. But anyway it’s really “impressed”.

Checked in today, our usual Park Junior Suite. But they made sure to state “40 dollar breakfast limit”. But if you order the salmon egg white dish 28 + Tomato Juice 6+ iced coffee 10= 44 dollars. I hope they do not not pick.

Technically the Glob breakfast is supposed to cover one main course and one beverage. IMO this is skimpy as it seems normal to order coffee/tea and juice or a small fruit item. It also seems pretty normal to me to order a side dish (protein such as bacon) if it's not included with the main course. Some hotels seem to interpret the rule in terms of intent (rather than strictly), which seems especially appropriate when a cheap basic egg dish includes bacon and hash browns or toast, while an order of pancakes or waffles doesn't include even a single strip of bacon.
ADDED: $40 per person doesn't seem enough for a PH breakfast ordered from a menu in most locations.

We are currently in a junior suite as well and they did highlight the $40/person. Luckily I’ve got a kid, so she helps even the bill out after the $22 s’mores French toast
