Awards: nicest Hyatts for lowest number of points?

Especially vs paying theri rates?????

One stands out where we had nice experience : only 5,000 points for Regency in Dubai which has been supwerbly updated, with great rooms, bathrooms, hallways and lobby.

Morning best,

HR Hua Hin for 5k/7k/8k (their suites are very nice, so the 24k for the 3 nites would be excellent.) Don't know when they will be done with the new spa, but I do know that when the GH BKK finished theirs, they sent a cert for a free massage to some frequent guests. Of course, at Hua Hin the 1 hr Thai massage was a (for a Hyatt) great value, about US$25 after the 10% discount for DIA, and was one of the best. Of course, there is always the beach massage stands close by as well at about US$5 per hour.

On the other end, 15k for the GH HK is right up there as well, though given how busy this property always is, I would recommend the 18k for the Club level guranatee. Also, the GH Shanghai, same deal. Or, the PH Zurich, PH Milan and PH Vendome for the 15k per night, having some very expensive daily room rates, are always great values on either FFN's or points.

HR Osaka for 5000 points is a real steal for the hotel, but the location is not very convenient; just finished a stay at La Manga in Spain for 8000/night, not a bad deal.

If you mean the Villa Magna in MAD-that is a great bargain for 8,000 points. The last time I asked it was 12,000.

in Madrid it is the Park Hyatt Villa Magna and in Cartegena it is the Hyatt Regency Manga. The PH is 15000/night; HR is 8000/night. Confusing similar names.

IMHO most Hyatts outside of NA, where most of them are overrated.

Many Asian Hyatt Regency and Hyatt resorts properties with 5k/8k requirements per night are great bargains. Hyatt Regency Hanzhou by West Lake is scenic and brand new. Hyatt Regency Hua Hin in Thailand is amazing also. If you are in vicinity of Hong Kong, try Hyatt Regency Macau which is resort class hotel (45-min by boat from Hong Kong, where many go for the legalized Las Vegas gambling casino).

In Europe, Hyatt Regency Istanbul is pretty cool place to stay and check out the bustling success of traditional islam buildings and culture melding with modern European culture. If you go to Paris, the Hyatt Regency CDG at airport is good use for last-night stay.

Within USA, the Hyatt Regency Orange County Disneyland for 8k per night is not bad since many Disneyland hotels are either expensive, or offer motel level amenities when they are below $100 per night, so during summer this property is great for family vacation with good amenities.

Regency OC is still a Cat. 1 property ( 5k ), although the regular revenue rates have become up to 50 % more expensive in the last three years.

The double digit rate years are over...

While speaking of Cat. 1 , Greenville, SC is a good bargain for 5k as well.

Hotel is nothing to write home about, but it is a picture perfect example of an early atrium style hotel and the location is brilliant.

I use to get the Hyatt Regency OC routinely for $25/night. Those were the days...

I stayed at the Regency OC last November for $96, so the double digit rates aren't quite gone. Of course $25 sounds a lot better!

I'm guessing that was a Priceline rate.

HR Auckland, NZ is not bad for Cat 1 (5,000 points) at all. In addition, they have the decent Regency Club lounge.
