Acapulco

Any comments on the Hyatt in Acapulco?

We have not stayed there for several years and are making a trip over the holidays. I know the hotel needed a facelift many years ago and from the pictures on the Hyatt website it looks about the same. ;)

I don't except the level of the Kauai or Maui as a resort but the Acapulco hyatt did have great service years ago. I was just wondering if that's still the case?

Stayed there about four years ago as a Diamond--nice hotel but not the best. My wife and kids checked in one day ahead of me--and received a boring small room. When I arrived and asked the manager for better, we were upgraded to a HUGE one bedroom suite with large angled balcony overlooking the ocean. Acapulco has had better days--but our three days were enjoyable. Better Hyatt resort alternatives--consider Kuai, Aruba or Grand Cayman.
