Hyatt Regency Brussels?

Does anyone know what happened to this hotel? It doesn't seem to be part of the Hyatt portfolio anymore. What is the hotel called now, and who is it managed by?

The website looks rather spartan...
Does anybody know why the hotel doesn't belong to Hyatt anymore. Quite a loss. Hyatt has not many hotels in Europe and now the one in Brussels is gone, too.

Brussels is a disaster from a yield perspective on weekends or non EU parliament periods, the Hyatt was available in the lower € 80 region most of the time on weekends and when I stayed there , it was frequently deserted.

The location was not bad but 1-2 kilometres too far down Avenue Louise, the Conrad and Hilton were in a much better location, not to mention the other upscale hotels like Amigo or The Stanhope.

But I also think that it is really sad, did not read any official statement from Hyatt yet, so if the GPP Concierge could update us, if the property is really gone for good or if Hyatt is looking to purchase / or operate any other property in Brussels, it would be much appreciated from my point of view as a frequent traveler to the area...

Excellent description. You hit the nail on the head!
I just wonder how the hotel will manage to continue without getting a lot of bookings from the Hyatt booking engine. And additionally, all the Flyertalkers moving their business to another hotel in Brussels now!

I guess it will not survive at all, the hotel was already run with as little manpower as possible, valet + bellman service was handled by the front desk staff or not at all most of the time and without access to a popular bookjng engine like hyatt.com bookings will probably go down further.

Actually sad, I liked the property a lot and updated the thread about the hotel frequently, access by public transport was easy and I once made it from the property to the LH check in desks at BRU in 50-55 minutes...

As pointed out already, Hyatt has to update its portfolio in Europe asap, but right now they seem to pick the sweet markets ( ZRH; MXP; DUB; LHR ) and in addition to that only expand in the relatively fast growing super upscale sector

Former Regency Brussels is now a Warwick Hotel

Just returned from a trip to Brussels, however stayed at the Hilton... :o

After being not affiliated with any chain over some weeks, Warwick Hotels took over the property and the Hotel now operates as the Warwick Barsey Hotel.

Warwick operates the 4* Hotel Waterloo near the famous warplace close to Brussels and the Royal Windsor by the Grand Place, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, however this fact does not prevent the property from being available from € 90 on weekends.

As pointed out earlier, Brussels is a disaster yield wise for any hotel chain during non EU parliament periods

Beside that nothing has changed, despite the new ownership.

The Hyatt flags have been replaced by Warwick flags and that`s it.Even the rates are kind of comparable, cheapest weekend room goes for € 87 ( 87.15 was the hyatt.com rate ) and the suites are also priced the same.
