But just yesterday I called Gold Passport, explained I was a Hilton Gold, and asked about upgrade from Plat to Diamond. The very nice, efficient lady explained what was needed, which I faxed to her, and today I'm now diamond.

Two years ago when I comped over I just had to send a statement from the other hotel. Things might have changed.

For me it did not work out so far. I have a new account with Hilton since the beginning of 2005 and it only shows three stays for this year so far. After sending faxes two times (first got lost) they finally declined the status comp although I have four reservations for the next two weeks with Hyatt, two of them with two rooms, a total of 12 nights. I did explain that I am the CEO of a company and not all stays are done by myself but by employees as well.

At least Hyatt requires proof of stays.
Hilton hands out Gold for the asking, I've never thought that Hyatt should be comping everyone with Hilton Gold to Hyatt Diamond. I'm glad that they are making people show they acutally may have enought hotels stays in the year to actually qualify for Hyatt Diamond on thier own merits.
