Value of points at the GH SIN ?

Need some advice on the GHSIN. I am there for 5 nights in Feb. with 3 free in a suite + 2 paid = out of pocket 680SGD + 60K points. Or I can get a big suite for 2200 SGD for all 5 nights. All rooms in GC.

I guess the question boils down to what is the value of 60Kpoints ?

For me, 60K points is worth about $600. I could get four nights at a resort for that many points. If the room rate at the time of my stay were $150 or less (which it never really would be in Maui for example) I would pay for the room instead. I attach lower dollar values to other hotel categories.

A bit off subject:

Diva, you probably were not using Priceline back a few years ago when they were selling rooms in Maui for $65. It only lasted for a month or so, and I’m still kicking myself for not taking advantage of that deal.

The value of points depends on how you use them. There are a number of category 1 hotels in Asia where, for 5,000 points, you are easily saving $100 per night (since you don't have to pay for tax and service charge on an award stay).
