Award Availability: Is Hyatt IT really this bad?
Do we really have to check every hotel one by one in places like Cancun (25+ properties) because while you can look at the hotel's award calendars, that doesn't give you availability? And what's up with the calendars showing rates for the Christmas period, but the message when you put your dates in is "This hotel is not accepting points during this period" -- why is it showing specific rates in the calendar then, why doesn't it say "no points"?
And separate but related question as I get to hotel number 19, am I going too far by expecting I'll find two room on points somewhere in Cancun for Dec 26- Jan 2 with 3 days of flexibility each side? |

I've just googled for these websites and I can't find them. Do you mind sharing or are you just here for snark?

Rooms.aero is another one you can filter to all Hyatt properties in Mexico and then search availability for X nights including X days (up to 5 nights)
Edit to Add: For example I was able to select 4 nights and Mexico and it shows the Andaz Riviera Maya is available for 4 nights. Then I changed to 3 and my start date to 12/30 and it shows suites available at a few different resorts. So if you're willing to split your week 4/3 you can get some cool places. 7 nights in a row that time of year might be tougher to swing. |

Look at the cash rates. There are only 5 Hyatt in Cancun that have availability for that date range. Most of them are for premium suites. But I agree that the website shouldn't give you false hopes. |
