Globalist Last Dance at Park MGM Las Vegas
I have a stay at Park MGM coming up before month end. I matched status to MGM Gold earlier this year. My reservation includes a $50 food and beverage credit for each of 2 rooms.
1. What's the best use of the food and beverage credit for someone who doesn't drink? The second room people will be arriving very late and we will all leave by 9 AM.
2. Where should I park my rental car and how do I get the free parking? There will only be one car, because as I understand it the second room doesn't get free parking. Edit: The website says I need to scan my MGM Rewards card to exit the parking but I haven't used a physical loyalty card in over a decade! I don't have the card, just the account.
3. Will the front desk automatically waive the resort fee on both rooms, or do I have to ask a special way?
4. I won't be spending enough time for a room upgrade to matter, but what should I expect?
5. If I give them my Hyatt number will I get WoH EQN credit? Or is there some other way to accomplish that? My rate is so low that the points are irrelevant.
5. Are there any tips or tricks I haven't mentioned?

Anywhere if you have matched Gold status you can do self park or valet for free.
3. Will the front desk automatically waive the resort fee on both rooms, or do I have to ask a special way?
Yes should be easy.
4. I won't be spending enough time for a room upgrade to matter, but what should I expect?
Dont expect one at all.
5. If I give them my Hyatt number will I get WoH EQN credit? Or is there some other way to accomplish that? My rate is so low that the points are irrelevant.
Yes, give your WOH number for EQN.

Do they (MGM) actually have their computers up and running again to check people in (and record stay credits) after the recent cyber attack?

I actually stayed at Park MGM two weeks ago and they were experiencing these kinds of issues couldnt print room keys, computer systems down and so on so maybe that was a test prior to the full scale attack.

When you go to other MGM in property restaurants to dine, give them your room number and physical ID, you can do room charge to earn more Hyatt points.
Also if you are AA elite as well, link both your AA and Hyatt account as well, that way your MGM spend not only will earn Hyatt points and EQN, you earn AA miles and loyalty points at the same time, it is basically a triple dip

Will just add a couple of thoughts to Matt4200's reply.
- Suggest using valet parking rather than self parking--much easier. Yes, the parking charges (like the resort fee) are automatically taken off for MGM Gold.
- Use the Preferred Members check-in line, the regular line frequently looks daunting.
- Your F&B credit is not good on checkout day, be aware of that. If (when) the MGM website was working, you can see what restaurants are included on the F&B rate. Charge to your room and then front desk takes off $50/$100 (hopefully room charges will be working again soon). Very easy to spend your credit in no time, even without alcohol. Best Friends at Park MGM is popular and mid-priced (for Vegas)--you need reservations there. You can use the F&B credit at any MGM property.
- Agree, don't expect any upgrade at Park MGM, they might move you a few floors higher if you mention upgrade.
- You can print your own Gold card at kiosks by the rewards counter, that is, if you want it--card not really needed. Remember MGM Gold is good through January 2024, for waived resort and parking fees mainly.
