Reservations department offering a deal that's not a deal
Just a minor complaint/venting for me. Reached out to an HR in Europe inquiring if there were any rooms/suites that could accommodate my family of four with two young kids. They advised me that all of their rooms/suites are max occupancy of 2, so it would be best for me to book two connecting rooms. Then they asked for my dates "so that we send you an offer for the family." I guess I just assumed that meant they were gonna give me some sort of discount for a family booking two rooms.
Nope! Instead, first of all, what they offered me was an upsell to an inclusive breakfast rate, which is the most expensive rate they list. Then I noticed that it was the full price for both rooms...AT THE NON-MEMBER breakfast rate. They couldn't even offer me the member rate lol.
Well, I am a member so I can book the member breakfast rate myself to save 5%. Also I'm a globalist so I can book the regular rate for 18% cheaper and still have my breakfast. And in fact I have a leverage account so actually if I book the rooms myself I'd save 22% off this "offer."
Am I expecting too much? Maybe I've been misled by all the second room discounts I've seen mentioned in these threads. Not sure if I even want to respond. This hotel is one of three options I'm considering and I was really hoping for a special offer on the second room for me to go this route.

If you have all that at your disposal, book it yourself. I don't understand what you're expecting from the property. Not everyone participates in "family plan" and outside the US those hotels are few and far between.

As for family plans, these forums in just the past few days have already mentioned several family offers that are in the same region. But again, that's not my complaint. It's the fake deal that annoys me.
It's not a big deal at all, I just thought I'd share on here to see if this happens much to others. For me it's a first.
