Club Access Awards for Globalists - What to do?
I have 4 Club Access Awards that expire in Feb - as a Globalist, I can't actually use these. What do other Globalists do - let them expire or try to get Corporate to convert them to points?

The only real use for the certs is when you're staying at a property where you are part of a party with multiple room bookings in different names. You can use the certs to give club access to those other rooms, but you need to be staying at the property at the same time in order to do so.

For a brief period last year they were converting the certs to points... but it was very brief and hasn't been repeated.

Thanks everyone - this has been very helpful - I wish you could at least transfer them to other users as they could be a nice gift (though, I know that system could be abused for selling them).

My MHC insisted the rooms all had to be booked in my name as the Club Lounge Access Awards cannot be "gifted" to another person. This wasn't much of an issue as we were able to change the names at the end of the stay so the actual occupants received their points and qualifying nights.
based on this, appears that club access awards can be attached to another name. In practice, probably not replicable.

If some of the FT DO organizers were smart(er), they could invite a bunch of Globalists to DOs and ask them nicely if they'd apply expiring Club Access Awards for FTers with lower status...

* PRN (prn, P.R.N): “Pro Re Nata” - Latin phrase meaning “as necessary”. A PRN prescription means that the administration of medication is not scheduled. Instead, the prescription is taken as needed.

Hyatt has a documented history of (sometimes) exchanging awards (SUA, CLA, FNA) for points ONLY shortly after the award has expired and less often within a few days prior to award expiration. I plan to call Hyatt, repetitively prn*, starting ~ Feb 21 (1 week prior to expiration) to see if points can be posted for my expiring SUAs and CLAs.
