Strategic Partnership with German Lindner Hotels

Just announced in German press that German Lindner Hotels will have a strategic partnership with Hyatt and will run their current 35 hotels under JdV brand in future. In total they have 25 hotels in Germany and 10 in other European countries. Especially their new Me And All hotels are a nice addition to the current Hyatt portfolio in Germany

Seems to be in line with Hyatt’s European strategy to expand by partnering with smaller hotel group collections in Europe.

If it's a full takeover where they are Hyatt branded hotels and everything is the same as normal Hyatts... benefits, earning, redeeming, etc.... AWESOME

If it's like the slh partnership.. eh.

These will mostly become JdV hotels. So, yes, full elite benefits...

That’s a massive improvement for Hyatt in Germany. According to the press release on the Lindner the cooperation is supposed to start 12/2022.

Yeah this kind of breadth across multiple cities of various sizes is exactly what they need to acquire in, well every country in Europe.

Thinking about switching 2 bookings from HR Mainz to Linder Main Plaza…did anybody stay there and have feedback?

Considering how good the HR Mainz is IMO, I wouldn't be rushing to change to a Lindner hotel new to Hyatt. But YMMV...

The Oberstaufen property looks like an interesting option for summer and winter with an alpine slide / sommerrodelbahn right down the street in summer. I dont know anything about that region but the property looks like potentially a nice spot to visit for some nature. Overall this seems like a very nice expansion for Hyatt.

The Me and All in Hannover looks very convenient to a client. Well priced too. I have a two week trip in December, so hoping the partnership is finalized by Dec 1.

If you go to the hotel group’s website, it may be possible to register to get a €20 discount for a stay. I would assume that the use of such a discount voucher code would not make rates ineligible for Hyatt stay credit, but that would involve waiting to use the €20 discount only after Hyatt brings online these properties for Hyatt program credit.

Do we think these hotels are likely to have air conditioning?

You caught the VFTW blog piece? In the blog piece, it has Hyatt indicating that air conditioning is part of Hyatt’s JDV brand standard. Sounds like bunk, unless it’s a new brand standard or one that Hyatt either doesn’t enforce or enforces very slowly.

Two of the three JDV properties in Sweden left me no choice but to open the windows to try to cool down my rooms in the summer of 2021. And even over a year later, those same rooms still have no air conditioning to cool them down — unless opening the windows counts as air conditioning.

I do feel somewhat sad that we Europeans are too "poor" to have air conditioning, or so Gary's article implies.

I'm sure that a Tripadvisor search could answer any questions about specific hotels...
