Bali - Which Hotel?
If there's already a thread on the relative merits of Bali hotels, mods, please feel free to consolidate.
Is there a general consensus for best or most luxurious Hyatt properties in Bali? I may split between two properties, so beach vs mountain analysis would be helpful. On an absolute basis, my first impression seems to be that Alila Uluwatu is the leader in the clubhouse. Thoughts? |

On an absolute basis, my first impression seems to be that Alila Uluwatu is the leader in the clubhouse. Thoughts? The property is luxurious. I received a comp upgrade to a 2 bedroom villa I didn't even need all that room, but I appreciated the amazing ocean views from the Master Bedroom and the pool villa. Service was absolutely exquisite and my butler did everything and more. I heard that beach is beautiful, but I didn't make it down the steps. I'm absolutely terrified of heights. I wish they had a lift/elevator like the Rimba Jimbaran/Ayana Bali to head down to their beach. I did a full day trip to Ubud..I'm glad that I spent the day there as I wasn't impressed at all. Too low-key commercialized for me. And that's coming from who is a born and raised NYer (I still live in NYC) |
I think Andaz Bali is a very nice property. From photos, looks like high end finishes and an excellent breakfast.

Is there anything wrong with GH and HR given that they're cat 1s?

Sorry, what I've heard is that they are both in subpar locations as far as Bali goes. Something about rocky beaches and touristy areas.

Help me choose a Bali property for five nights in Mar
We are a travelling through SE Asia as a couple in early March.
I realize it could be somewhat rainy, but we want to spend five nights in Bali during this time. Neither of us have been to Indonesia before. I'm a Globalist, and may use pts or cash depending on value. Any property in the system is on the table at this point. Which is the best property, considering the following preference, in order of importance Great natural feel, where you feel like you are in Bali, not in a city center or conference hotel feeling. Someplace a little posh, and very romantic Access to house reef for snorkeling and nice beach for swimming in crystal clear water Access to Scuba diving either from resort directly, or within 20/30 minutes to a dive center with access to great sites Food quality (my misses in Celiac), and we both like tasty and healthy food Access to other sightseeing, hiking, cultural activities, etc. A decent gym So, where would you stay? Andaz, GH, Regency, others?? We don't want to move hotels during our stay Thank you |
