Really generous upgrade, was not expecting any upgrades here.

The Shay
Booked (via Prive): 1 King Bed
Upgraded: 1 King Bed Studio
Standard prive upgrade, didn’t get any further Globalist upgrades. Extra space was nice, but not mind blowing.

Great Scotland Yard
Booked (via Prive): 1 King Bed Courtyard View
Upgraded: 1 King Bed Premium
Standard prive upgrade only, no further Globalist upgrade. Room was tiny, upgrade didn’t feel substantial.

Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome
Booked (points): Park Room King
Upgraded: Park Suite King
Extremely pleasantly surprised to get upgraded upon check-in. App was showing no standard suites available so I must’ve gotten incredibly lucky. Club was excellent.
You did get lucky. Must be a hidden Member's club at Vendome.

Oops that was meant to refer to the HR Paris Etoile 😅, fixed now

A few recent stays:

Park Hyatt Buenos Aires
Booked: 1 King
Upgraded: Park Suite

Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen
Booked: 1 King
Upgraded: Grand Suite King

Hotel Reisin, Stockholm
Booked: 1 King
Upgraded: At check-in they gave me a King Sea View. Suites seemed to be available online but I was tired from a long day of travel and decided to just take it. Got to the room, saw how tiny the bathroom was, went back to the front desk and asked if they might have anything else available for a Globalist upgrade. Without putting up a fuss they put me in a Stockholm Suite (also with a sea view).

Ambassador Chicago
Booked: 1 King
Upgraded: 1 Bedroom Suite

Hijacking the thread for a sec but how was that room? Used a TSU for that upgrade next month and am looking forward to it.

It was great! It's not a true suite in that it's one very large room but that was not an issue for me. I was on the 15th floor and had a nice view of the garden below and the rooftops of Recoleta above. Their other standard suite is the Park One Bedroom which does have 2 rooms separated by a door but the overall space is smaller (61 square meters vs. 72 for the Park Suite).

Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport

Booked a base room for 3 nights the night prior to arrival and a few hours later in the app upgraded to a regency executive suite. This property continues to impress.

fully agree, this is the sole hotel I know, besides PH Zurich and PH Doha (with previous GM) that totally stick to the T&C and consequently apply the upgrades. That is great. I‘ll be there on NYE.

Hyatt Regency Casablanca
Booked: Junior Suite
Received: Regency Executive Suite
Dates: 12/29-12/31
Notes: Showed up in the app the day before. The suite is massive with a living room alone the size of most bedrooms.

Reading a 2nd time…. The Regency Ecex Ste is a standard suite. They have 2 types.
the premium suite is the Ambassador suite, and obviously the Presidential Suite.

you Suite was facing inwards, right? Not towards the park.

Correct my mistake. Clicked the wrong one when looking at room types.

Can a Globalist get upgraded for the last night of the stay if a better room becomes available?
Park Hyatt Sydney GM just declined this and said upgrades can only be done at check in.

The T&Cs are quiet clear on that aspect of upgrades: at the time of check-in. The GM is within his right to decline the upgrade at this point of your stay.

Upgrades can be done mid-stay. If this was the goal would’ve asked at check in as usually they would be more accommodating. I’ve had it offered several times saying none were available at check in but would be available the next day.

However, any upgrades done beyond the day of check in are at the property’s discretion.
