Same here. I used the coffee maker, I briefly sat the dining table, and that was about it. I was in town all of 15 hours for a hearing. That's when you always get the good upgrades.

tommie Hollywood (1 night)
2 Twin Beds Atrium View
Upgraded to One Bedroom Suite
* Used Free Night Award from Chase CC. Upgrading to suite was pretty easy as I was staying one night and there were 4 suites available when I checked-in. (App didn’t show upgrade or didn’t change to any upgraded room before check-in)

Most of my stays are 2 nights and rarely more than 3 so I may be a bit more lucky with upgrades. I'm a bit of a leisure travel weekend warrior. At upgradeable properties (ie not including Hyatt Place and the like) I'm batting a good 75% for suite upgrades if not better likely due to my short stays. I don't think I've ever had a stay longer than 3 nights with Hyatt.

Just curious some of the properties you’ve stayed at? I’ve stayed at quite a few that are known to be generous with suite upgrades but even some where a lot of people don’t seem to get upgrades based on the threads here I’ve been lucky. Could be that I’m staying during low occupancy weekends too. I won’t bother if hotel rates are high.

For 2022, we had 8 total stays at properties with suites that I was not already booked into (ie, could potentially receive a suite upgrade if available)
- 1 upgrade at an HH, 7 nights, from studio to 1-bedroom.
- 1 stay there was a standard suite showing and I do believe the agents genuinely tried to get me into it, but they eventually said they could not and that even though it was showing on the app, they were all already internally blocked. They even tried to get me into the suite on night 2, when it was showing available again, and then eventually the same issue. I'll note that the suite availability in the app was constantly in flux so it seemed a bit wonky.
- The other 6 stays no upgrade received as there were no standard suites available.

I should correct that I did get one suite upgrade, but that's because I traveled with a friend and we each booked a night. He asked for a suite upgrade in advance so we got to keep the room for my night. Not sure if that really counts though.

Hyatt Maui, one night stay, points, so whatever the base room is. Prior day I saw I had been booked into an oceanfront room. It remained that way thru check in. I asked about a suite. Agent took quite awhile checking, found a one bedroom suite, and upgraded us.

I have never asked for an upgrade, so maybe that is the reason.

Booked: Standard room
Received: Regency suite (listed as standard suite on their website)

The Beekman
Booked: 3 nights, 1 Queen Bed
Received: One Bedroom Corner Suite
Asked politely on a phone call before my stay while I was organizing some expense items if they could upgrade me to a suite. Confirmed a One Bedroom Suite (standard suite), then app showed upgrade to One Bedroom Corner Suite (premium suite) on the day of.

0 upgrades to suites so far as a first time Globalist (“Lite” ?) & one very disappointing stay in Hawaii. Ironically, I’ve had better upgrades, including suite upgrades, at Marriott where I’m a lowly Gold. One of the reasons I’ve shifted most of my future stays to Marriott + Marriott simply has a much better footprint generally, at least to places I generally travel.

Park Hyatt DC
1-night stay last week.
Booked: 1 King, using points
Received: Park Suite
Upgrade showed on the app the day prior. This was my first time receiving a Park Suite at the PH DC; upgrades are common, but usually to a junior suite. The welcome amenity was chocolate chip cookies once again, and they were as delicious as ever.
