That's your opinion...Centric MM is perfectly fine but ordinary and unremarkable Centric. Thompson just started Glob benefits again so was a write-off for a long time (and IMO the location is poorer), and is generally known as one of the weaker Thompsons in the portfolio.

It does depend on what you like. I just didn't care for the CAA and their super slo-mo elevators. Cindy''s was good for the view and drinks. Though I agree the Centric while very good is definitely not an over-the-top property.

Well, it depends on what you like. I just stayed there and it was a major disappointment, especially when I opened the door to enter the room and saw the giant white (bleached) stain in the carpet. Lighting was too dim and the wi-fi was pretty slow when it did work. My father belonged to the CAA when it was a real athletic club so I'd seen it often. Thompson and Centric MM were much better.

How can you say that about the Thompson-Lou Malnati's is right across the street. It was a nice weekend in Chicago, so walking was pleasant, so just a few blocks to my favorite restaurants. And the breakfast was spectacular.

I would call GH Jeju overrated. Sure, the rooms have a lot of space but it's a casino city hotel in Jeju. They charge a pretty penny and play games for points.
The major downside is their Globalist treatment - it's practically nil. Club lounge access? Sure, but they sell a lot of Club Rooms via Korean home shopling channel. It's not so exclusive or peaceful to be in. They strictly enforce 3pm check-in and 11am checkouts, even, for Globalists. I'm not traveling to Jeju to get the same check-in and out times like the Best Western nearby. It's ridiculous considering their room counts and they can get away with it (being a casino hotel).
I would use my 45.8 billion won Squid Game winnings at PH Seoul during a 3x points promotion.

From my visit in mid-August 2021. I got a 1 pm checkout. There is globalist check-in/out at the club lounge that made the process much easier. The club lounge knew my name, wife's name, and baby's name by memory and made sure we were comfortable by checking in multiple times. It might be because we were an English speaking family that they gave us preferential treatment.
We didn't spend any time in the casinos as that's not our thing. Jeju has plenty to offer for families.
The Hyatts in Seoul were tiny. We didn't get any suite upgrades even though I stayed 3x over this past summer. It's almost suffocating. There were way too many staycationers.

Interested to hear your thoughts on what makes HR Hakone underrated. They are the only Cat 6 Regency in Japan, the location is mediocre, the hot springs are uninspired, and there are several better options in the immediate area, even from international chains like IHG.
Not a bad property, just don't see it as a hidden gem or anything.

PH Vienna for me.
Debatable if it's underrated but certainly does not command the attention of some other EU PHs like PH Paris Vendome or PH Zurich. The property is immaculate, the rooms well appointed, and service has been consistently superb during my stays. This is the only Hyatt where we were "checked-in" in the room without the typical front desk formalities and found the staff to be personable, professional, and knowledgeable.
The GM Monique Dekker is also in a league of her own and runs a tight ship.

In total agreement. Booked 3 rooms as a Globlist over the summer and every room was unacceptable. Small, dark, bad wifi and one had a heavy chemical smell that we had to move out of and actually ended up in a larger room (they told us earlier they had no rooms to upgrade us to) The novelty wears off in a 1/2 day. Called Hyatt and checked out the next morning to Centric MM. My friends were so relief. I ended up with egg on my face because I kept telling them CAA will treat a Glob very well. NOT!

Most underrated property so far to me, is the Hyatt Regency Dubai (Diera). I mentioned it on this post below:

Alila Hinu Bay, Oman (an hour north of Salalah) is a wonderful property. I don't know that it's underrated. The handful of us who have reported on it have done so in glowing terms. It just takes effort to get there and only opened this fall.

Hyatt Paris Madeleine. Great location, excellent service, nice boutique feel and a really good Globalist breakfast.

Unfortunately, there are many underrated hotels in countries I have no intention at all to travel. I may have been there on business, but now that my travel is for leisure only, there is no way I‘d leave my money there.
