I presume foreign transactions will count too, if I read T&C carefully.

Yes, they should as long as they fit within the other terms.

Signed up, however still waiting on the 500 points from the contactless promo from the end of 2020 to post. 5 contactless transactions > $1.75 or something. Saw I earned them on my statement but not in my account yet.

With the WN Chase card doing 5x points on gas, grocery, and drugstores, if the purchase is <$20, the Hyatt card is better to use if I value the points equally.

Was that a publicly available offer? I don’t remember seeing it.

I got an email about it and it was an auto sign-up, there was no registration required. I was initially frustrated because my card would never work when tapped, so I tried my wife's who is an authorized user and it worked. Our WN Chase had the same offer, need to check if those points posted too. We never used tap to pay so maybe we were targeted for it. I do it all the time now.

In addition, does each transaction need to be in-person? I make a few payments online (utility bills), I'm hoping those will count toward total transactions in Feb.

From the signup page:
Whether you’re making in-person purchases at the grocery store, automatic payments on bills or even contactless payments at your local café, you can earn with every purchase of more than $1.
The only restrictions in the T&C on transaction types are the customary exclusions (cash advances, gaming chips, fees, etc.).

It says “of more than $1”. So just do $1.01 and up. I’d assume most people’s natural transactions will be more than $1 anyway.

The marketing blurb says >$1 but the T&C say $1.00 or more. I would expect the T&C prevail.

Amazon will “auto reload” your gift card balance DAILY with a minimum of $5 each day. Set it up today and forget it until March. There are half of your transactions.

I may break up some bill payments into chunks, like 5 separate, daily payments that cover a utility bill.

This will vary by provider, but just be aware that some places may have "velocity of payments" restrictions. With the current Amex paypal credit, I spread my natural gas bill over several cards. However, it locked me out of the system because there is a limit of 5 payment transactions per account per 30 days. I called and could get it reset, but it would be annoying to have to do that often. But again, this will vary by provider.

So no micropayment plan?

Thanks, Probably a good thing to know in any event, so I will review the utility company's payment criteria.
