So as I understand the 6.5% resort fee that the Vail destination resorts are charging should be waived as a globalist (anyways on an award stay i have no idea how they would calculate it). And I can't find any information about parking (if it's included or not).

Resort or similar fee was waived on 5 destination stays I had this year although a couple required a reminder and in one case it was included in prepaid deposit requiring a follow up for refund. Also 3 or 4 out of 5 required lengthy follow up to get points and stay credits (they posted as 0/0 automatically)
Parking was included in all stays for anyone I think as those are condos with assigned parking.

Are there review threads for the Destination by Hyatt Residences in Hawaii? Curious on feedback from folks that have spent a week in these condo style accommodation’s…Are they at quality level of a solid HR, are they old and tired, which properties are better etc…Looking at booking 2 weeks on Maui or Big Island next year and would like to have a kitchen and have never stayed at Destination properties by Hyatt. I’m Globalist as well but assume that doesn’t give any advantage. Feedback welcome thanks

THe lanai was gorgeous and access to baby Beach was great for my daughter (11) to learn to snorkel for the first time. Plentiful fish and turtles and even saw a few seals swimming and lounging on the beach one day on a walk. Would recommend heading to Honolulu and Kapalua Bay for even better snorkeling!
IT was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the resorts. Baby Beach was fairly popular with primarily locals but only had issues on one day when a group set up multiple tents and blasted music all day.
Proximity to downtown lahaina and grocery stores was great though we still drove as we were with my elderly parents.
The gym was not really worth your time though I did a workout with my daughter as she wanted to use the treadmill to train for a 5k she was running in a week.
All in all it made for a very pleasant peaceful vacation for the family and was a good redemption.

Ugh, so I am running into this “Destination by Hyatt” thing for the first time. I’m a globalist and checking in for a long stay (week +) at Stonebridge Inn.
I booked this Hyatt hotel on my Hyatt app under my glob number, and the front desk is telling me no benefits at all, “except maybe a late check out if there is room.” They told me they, “aren’t really a Hyatt beause they have condos.” There is a hotel restaurant in the lobby.
I had no idea. I was really counting on the free breakfast. The point for me of being loyal to Hyatt is so I can have some expectation of service and benefits and easily book in the app. If I need to research each hotel to see if they offer Hyatt benefits, that seems quite contrary to the point.
anyways, now I know not to book “Destination by Hyatt” properties but not at all a pleasant surprise.

some offer breakfast, others don’t. I’m currently at one that does. You have to check the list:

If you've been at one of these, you would know it's not really a money thing, it isn't feasible in a condo complex. They may not have a restaurant on site. Hyatt loyalists are always better with more choices. If they were dumps, that would be a different story. Having less choice so one doesn't have to even think about breakfast is a poor outcome.
What major chain does better?

That doesn’t matter. .
It’s similar to a brand (like Hyatt Place) doesn’t do upgrades, even though some but not all, have a class of rooms to upgrade to, and hence occasionally gives upgrades.
the rule is the minimum to expect; not the maximum.

The best, most cost effective breakfast in Snowmass Village is at this litte place called Fuel. They do an excellent job on breakfast and the price is fairly reasonable. Big Hoss is great for a sit down breakfast then you have City Market right nearby to pick up groceries if you like.

I just ran into this myself. There seem to be two types of "Destination by Hyatt" properties in Hawaii. One type is a "Destination" (essentially a kind of AirBnB-type property), and the other is a "Destination Hotel" which is an actual hotel. One clue might be that the "destination" properties tend to have rooms called "condos" and they are typically very large, with kitchens, etc. The "hotel" properties tend to have "Rooms" without kitchens and so on, and the photos look more like hotel rooms, and they are sometimes called "Resorts". I called the Resort hotel, which has smaller rooms that look more like regular hotel rooms, and they confirmed they do Globalist breakfast, they try to upgrade on as available basis, you can use an SUA, etc.
