Combining FNs and points awards?

Is it able to combine FN and points reservations? (And then apply a TSU if a standard suite is available)

If it's possible, do I need to call the CS or the Twitter team can make it?

I know usually it doesn't, but I booked it before the hotel is playing games with rewards availability (2FN+1 night with points), but now it's impossible to get any suite availability for even that 1 night stay.

Thanks!

Yes, you go under paid stays then under Member Rate where cash stays are next to book it should say Pay My Way which will allow points and FN booking, cash not needed.

I thought that you couldn't apply a TSU to reservations that include FN certs?

You can’t which is why I didn’t mention applying one.

Not to mention you don’t get the points rebate if you’re redeeming a FN.

But the OP did:

::shrug:: The OP asked a question, you answered affirmatively. I only asked what I did because that didn't jive with what I'd read.

Only one cert can be attached to reservation so FN which is a cert in itself can not be combined with upgrade cert. If you put it on either end of stay and upgrade all other nights email the property and they will likely allow you to keep that suite for that night (imo last night is easier for that).

Thank you all. I guess I already know the answer. After reviewing my original question, it's more like a half luckiness and a half complaint that I was able to book it before it plays the game (3 nights minimum) but didn't apply the TSU for the last night when I could. Hopefully they change it back before my arrival lol. There're definitely suite availability for the last night.

What do you mean by you don’t get the points rebate? If I have award nights booked using points and also 1 free night award I’ll still get the rebate on the points nights part correct? Having 1 FN award doesn’t exclude the entire stay from the promotion?

Correct - I was just saying the FN will be valid through 12/31 so by using that rather than points for the 3rd Night you wouldn’t earn the 15-25% for that Night. The other two nights paid with points will of course earn the rebate whether you use the FN or not, using it does not exclude any rebate.

I've got several certificates expiring on Dec 31st, and I'm looking to make a combined cert/point award reservation thru Jan 2nd. When combining certs and points on a single award booking, does the checkout date have to be before the earliest cert expires (or can points be used specifically for the dates that the cert is no longer valid)?

Before the earliest cert expires. If the reservation date is sufficiently close to the earliest expiration date, suggest calling Hyatt directly to make the booking with likelihood that the agent will extend the cert to cover the period of the booking.

Couldn't you just book the certificate night for Dec 31st check-out, then a separate points booking for 31D -2 Jan? When the system merges them all together later, all elite nights should apply to 2022?

Sure but then you're managing 2 reservations and no guarantee that you'll be in the same room across the two. If you book with an agent and they can set up the combinability, then you're good.

Up to the recent poster ( FlyerBeek ) to decide how they want to handle it.
